***07/06/08*** MANAGEMENT STAFF HAS BECOME INTOLERABLE! - I'll be moving out in December because the new manager MARSHA is consistently rude. She's been flippant with me or more than one occasion, and I had to remind her that my rent pays her salary!
I have been a resident at Alara Highland Park for a month now. I'm appalled at some of the comments that have been made by the current residents. This is a very quiet, safe, beautiful community. I sometimes forget that I have neighbors because the walls are so well insulated. Of course there are children that play and walk about the community, but I haven't seen any of the "hoodlums" some of the other residents spoke of in their posts. They even have a newsletter that provides community and area updates! This community is more expensive than most in the area, but all of the amenities prove well worth it. If you wish to live in any apartment complex in Atlanta, Ga., I suggest you build a high tolerance for people of different cultural and racial backgrounds.

The people who post these ads have lived at Highland Park for years and have seen it go down hill over the past 3 years. You've been there one month and that's great you enjoy it. A lot of the residents are concerned because this is NOT what they moved into years ago - things have changed a lot. That doesn't mean they are racist, they just want a good quality neighbor and why shouldn't they!

I'm stunned that the last poster said to have a good quality neighbor, you need to buy a house. You have every right to be picky EVEN in an apartment community...it's about standards. Many of the old time residents have lived here for years, including myself. We were used to quality residents (professionals) and quality management. If you think that this situation is the by product of apartment living, you have lowered your standards.

TO THE ABOVE POSTERS: Quality is relative...I'm sure that there are people that don't think that YOU ALL are a "quality neighbors". I know I wouldn't want to live next to people as intolerant of other peoples' civil rights as YOU ALL appear to be...

I've lived in this apartment complex for about a year now and I have to agree with the original poster. This community is quiet, safe, and clean. I have never had any problems with any of the residents here.
