1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Sandy Springs Shooting

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) -- A Sandy Springs woman is dead and two men, including the gunman, are injured after a shooting at a home.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Steve Rose said authorities got a call about 10:40 p.m. Monday of a shooting at 337 Highland Park Trail. Rose said officers found a 44-year-old woman dead of a
gunshot wound to the head.

He said another man was wounded and was treated and released at the scene.

Rose said it appears the gunman broke into the home, shot the couple and then shot himself.

The suspect was taken to North Fulton Hospital.

Police have not released the names of the victims or a motive.

Authorities believe the suspect was a former boyfriend of the woman.

As a current resident I totally agree about getting new management. The assist prop. manager is the rudest person I have met while here at Alara Highland Park. When talking to them about the murder it is easy to say it can happen anywhere which is true, but I had a man with a gunshot wound to the face banging on my door yelling to let him in at night. It is the whole princple behind trying to make residents feel safer and they are not very sympathetic. Management was super nice when first moved here, but that has certainly changed.

You know what, that could happen anywhere. The apartment complex can't help that some crazed ex-boyfriend wanted to kill his wife - get over it. I will agree though that the "quality" of resident they are letting move in isn't that great - you do feel like you are living in the GHETTO and that's sad! They do need new management!

I would be curious to know what you mean by "quality" and "living in the GHETTO" - Maybe you need to get over a few things too. The first person did not even comment about the residents in the complex, he was complaining about management. You may want to pay better attention to things and actually READ them before you tell someone to "get over it". You might not even have a clue about what you are telling them to get over, since you were not present to experience their conversation.
