i really liked this place when Nicole worked in the office b/c she sold me on Dunwoody Gables and always remembered my name. i don't think she works there anymore... unfortunately! the office has had a complete makeover from when i first moved in, despite looking quite nice the 1st time -- now all leathered out and super fancy (i can't see why they needed to change it).
parking: challenging to find a spot close to your apartment at night if you're in front (ramps in back provide ample parking for people who live in back)
management: could care less about you really; just want to make some $$ and raise your rent as much as possible each renewal period; maybe 2 people in there working at a time (i said MAYBE!); no maintanence on weekends unless it's an emergency (on call); office people seem a bit snooty
ammenities: beautiful pool area, good workout room 24 hrs, good laundry area 24 hrs but good luck if you don't have quarters (office will not provide change either, i asked!), and there are a couple grills but they are old and not really something you'd cook anything on
gated community: gated only in that there are gates but people can sneak through behind you at any time (even when i go slow to try to prevent it, they don't care b/c the bar that comes down is not really made of a material that would do any damage to a vehicle), the area is relatively safe and there have been numerous letters of car break-ins
overall i want to keep living at this location (looking at other places, i see why this is nicer b/c it's clean and the apt. buildings are relatively new or renovated) but i might not be able to b/c my rent has been raised almost twice as much as the last time.

i'm the author but couldn't remember my login info so here are some updates for people looking to rent here: - parking can still be a problem, esp. at night - management is getting better and seem to care more - gate can be broken at times w/people trying to beat the gate or who do not know how it works; most times it is functionable - went in to negotiate my rent and they were quick to come to a compromise. i do have to move b/c any increase would be unaffordable to me (why do places have to keep raising, even for good tenants? something i'll never understand!!) but i'd recommend it based on reviews of other places in the area. too bad the rent is at over $700 now. it was at $530 on special for me when i first came here. - convenient location to 285 W or E, gas stations nearby, shopping centers nearby, dunwoody is a great town!! |
