Dunwoody Gables is NOT A SAFE place to live. According to CrimeReports.com on the Dunwoody Police Department website there were 7 incidents on the Dunwoody Gables property in April and May 2009:

April 12, 2009 - Robbery - Building 2
April 14, 2009 - Breaking & Entering - Building 3
April 14, 2009 - Theft - Dunwoody Gables Gym
April 27, 2009 - Theft of Vehicle - Building 1
April 28, 2009 - Theft - Building 3
May 8, 2009 - Theft from Vehicle - Building 6
May 22, 2009 - Breaking & Entering - Building 3

The robbery on April 12 included shots of a semi-automatic gun within the apartment, physical torture of three victims, robbery of the apartment and theft of a car.

The breaking and entering on April 14 occurred in the middle of the day. After inspecting the door and frame the policeman said that it is likely that the apartment had been broken into before because the door frame was bent and there were suspicious marks on the door and frame that were not from the day of the incident. These factors made it easier for the burglar to break in. Even after the door and frame were replaced there was and still is an unacceptable gap between the door and the frame.

Police also reported that the recorded times on the community's cameras were not correct making it more difficult for them find the suspect.

On April 14, that same day, there was also a theft in the community center.

Personal safety is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING a property can offer you. NO amenity or luxury is more important than the PEACE OF MIND you should feel when you are at home. RENTER BEWARE - Dunwoody Gables is NOT A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE and the staff is not very helpful or accommodating after an incident occurs.

Charleston Place is the street name for apartments in Dunwoody Gables and the first number of the street address indicates the building number.

I am so glad I didn't move in Dunwoody Gables. They had a 70% rating on apartments.com. I swear the ratings are juiced up by management. I amost moved in, but on the day of my move, the apartment had a leak and the ceiling was raining down like a waterfall. That was enough for me to turn my back on this property. They stole my deposit and application fees even after their part of the deal was broken by the apartment not being ready to move into. In case anyone missed it, the first week of the City of Dunwoody's existance, police had a huge drug raid in Dunwoody Gables. The recent activity tells me this place is plagued and hasn't cleaned up its act. Good luck to anyone who has the misfortune of being duped into moving there.
