I have been a resident at Westchester @ Dunwoody (now called Madison Square), since 2003. There were only 50 residents when I moved in and all was great the first fourteen months of my lease. However, once the decision was made to sell them as condo's the orginal leasing staff and maintance people moved to other Westchester properties. I felt the orginal staff was great and friendly and did care. They were the ones that created a calendar of things to do once a week and the saturday appreciation breakfast for the residents. Which we don't have any social events anymore. The following is my take of these apartments for any interested buyers or renters:

Apartment/floorplans: There are 4-5 different floorplans for 1 bedrooms and about 3 floorplans for a 2 bedroom and I believe 1-2 floorplans for a 3 bedroom. I like the tri-level experience of the apartment having the mailbox, trash chute and parking on the same level as your apartment. There are also bell carts and elevators to make your move easier. However, after being in my apartment for a year the carpet starting looking old and is easily stained, the crown moldings are splitting, paint is matte and gets scratched easily-but a good neutral color than white. Door handles everywhere to your front door, back door and garage doors only has a 6 month lifespan. The apartments are furnished with GE appliances including a washer and dryer. Overall I am satifised with my move in (the bubbly and nice chocolates), with my floor plan-lots of space for me but not too happy with the quality of the building.

Amenties: The complex has great landscaping and grounds for a lap pool, beach style pool, zen garden to relax and read or book or study, cool clubhouse with plasma tv's, we used to have an all night latte' computer room-however I think residents that don't know how to act right ruined that, a great gym when the equipment is not broken (which is hardly ever now), each of the cardio machines have plasma tv's that you can plug in your headsets too and covered tri-level garage parking.

Parking/grounds: Parking on my level from time to time is an issue for me but not all the time. My car has been safe there, but considering its a honda parked next to Lexus, BMW's and Mercedes-I think its safe :-). People do park like morons most of the time hogging up spots but with the recent security patrol they get tickets for parking in handicapp or double parking so its not so much an issue now. The grounds are kept up nicely with plants but the animal messes are still an issue-but come on the leasing office can not go out and walk with every resident to make sure they are using the pet trash bags and containers they have placed all through the property. If you are a pet owner you know you have to clean up after your pet and if you don't then you should not have a pet because you are too lazy!

Leasing staff: The orginal leasing staff was the bomb, I hardly had to be in the leasing office but when I was they always knew my name out of the 200 residents they now had. They created social things for the residents and seemed genuine. I agree that Nick was a prude. The new leasing staff is AWEFUL, I had a huge package I had to pick up and was struggling to get the door and there was no offer to help, they lack customer service skills, they are as ghetto as the new residents they are allowing to move in, not sure if they have any property management experience and they act like they are just there for the paycheck and not their residents.

Entrance/exit of the complex: First of all turning left from Kroger on Chamblee Dunwoody onto Cotillion Drive is a nightmare and the DOT will not install a left turn signal. Side vistor parking has turned into a nightmare, people just park anywhere making it a one lane and don't let it be a day that UPS is making a delivery on the same day that someone is moving in, because the other residents won't let anyone get through as they speed by. Speeding is an issue in the garage and near the entrance of the garage, people act like there are no driving courtesies on apartment grounds.

neighbors: We have a diverse group of people living on the grounds. I do not see many families living here but on the weekends there are alot of kids at the pool (which suck for the single folk that like to have a beer by the pool). I agree that this apartment complex is not for families afterall.

Location: great location to 400, 285 & 85. Close to Perimeter mall, grocery stores, gas stations, schools & colleges. I think its the main reason I renew my lease is the location. On a rank 1-10, I give the location a 11!!!

Bills: Apartment is total electric and for my one bedroom the power has not been more than $70 during the summer and $35 during the non hot months. Water/trash/sewage is $15 a month and I do not use Bellsouth phone service but have great cable connection and high speed internet with Comcast. Do not reccomend the dish or satellite TV to anyone living at the complex.

I hope this breakdown helps anyone interested in living here. Since I am a busy professional seeking a masters degree I am hardly home to witness the chaos and the floor that I reside on is very quite.

I would reccommend these apartments to single people but please be professional and act like an adult or the people who bought a condo's property value will go down :-)

I am a current resident myself and have been here since 2003 I stay because of the location. I posted a review very similar to yours and I agree with it 100%. For all the other viewers this breakdown is very accurate.
