Great place but break-ins have been an issue

I have been living at Madison Square for a few years. Great location, nice staff, nice property, and most of my neighbors are friendly (and they are moderately quiet). However over the past year or so, there has been a major increase with car break-ins and theft. Twice in the past month, two very nice cars had all four rims and tires stolen off of them....not to mention the many random break ins before that. Where was the patrol man'''' The break ins usually happen when the gates are not working properly. This place is nice, but all this crime has pushed me to not renew after this current lease is up.
Theft is the only con I have of this place...everything else is pretty positive. Until management takes action to make this place a bit more secure, I cannot recommend this place to others.

Fair Review - just wanted to add that the property is slowly turning condo and an HOA board will be formed in June. There are still plenty of units to rent and problems with crime are now being addressed more aggressivly since the HOA is actually meeting to discuss them. As of this week, patrols have increased in both numbers and hours present.

I agree with the first posting. I have enjoyed living in Madison Square but have two complaints--my neighbor downstairs, who had his music so loud that my lamps vibrated from the base and secondly, my car was broken into. I called the security officer three times and reported my noisy neighbor once to the leasing office. I don't know if the leasing office said anything to the resident but he continues to play his music loud. I have not renewed my lease.
