Love the location and the apartment, but there are still downsides

I moved to Dunwoody becaue I love the area, albeit expensive, but worth it compared to where I used to live. I immediately fell in love with my apartment here at Point at Perimeter, although it was an "unfinished" apartment, it had been empty awhile, it was the perfect size for me, on the floor I needed, and in my price range. I put a deposit down 2-3 weeks ahead of time. The evening I was going to move in we did the walkthrough, and I noticed the apartment was still dirty and dusty. I mentioned it the office staff that was with me, and was told, "oh I guess we are going to have to hire a new cleaning company." Huh' Ok, how about, we'll call someone and get it cleaned right away. No solutions, just an oops. The toliet had a rust spot in the bowl, which I didn't notice before and I mentioned it, and she said they'd fix it. To top it off the air conditioner was frozen, because maintenance had turned it all the way down as low as it could go and left it. They said it should be working by the evening. I called the office when I left and made sure they were going to fix everything, and clean the apartment before I moved in. The lady said yes. Well, I moved in and nothing had been done. Nothing except the air conditioning. Having no other choice I moved into a dirty and dusty apartment. They tried to "fix" the toliet by spray painting the bowl white. Well...that worked for about 3 days then it came off. When I called the office again they told me they don't fix that problem. So I have to live with it. I wiped down what I could, and it was nasty. I couldn't believe I moved into a dirty apartment. When I checked the carpet with a rag, pet hair came up. REALLY nasty. And my husband is allergic to pets, and dust. Now I wonder if they cleaned the carpet, probably not. One of the faucets started leaking, and I called it in, it took them 3 weeks to fix it. The refrigerator is small, and the dishwasher is a piece of crap. However, despite all of that I still like my little apartment. I just don't think highly of the management and the maintenance staff. Not two months later, a maintenance man came into the apartment and did the SAME thing as when I moved in, they turned the air conditioning all the way down, and left. I came home to a freezing apartment, and an almost frozen air conditioner. Speaking of maintenance they are also a bit unprofessional. They are very nice when they come into your apartment. But catch them when they think no one is watching or listening, and wow. I can hear them from my apartment a lot of times, and they'll be yelling to each other or other residents and it's like I'm standing right there. And believe me, it's nothing fun to listen to, or anything you want to hear in the early afternoon. The staff is super friendly when you come into the office, but I can tell they slack and drag their feet behind closed doors. My apartment is truly considered "unfinished", as they don't not want to spend any more money on it if they don't have to, while collecting rent. Which is why they won't replace my ugly toliet, or clean it before I move in, and take 3 weeks to replace a faucet. And I have only been here a few months. On the bright side I'm really really happy with the location. Lots of people having quiet walks around the apartments and on the streets outside, you can easily walk to a SuperTarget that's practically just across the street. All the other residents are friendly and generally quiet. Except that small dog across the way, but that's just once in awhile, welcome to apartment living.
