I've lived in this complex under it's various names: Club Candlewood; The Club At Campcreek; Highland Retreat. It's all the same. And it's NOT all good. The management sucks! They are friendly from the onset, but have made poor choices in regards to "rules" for a family complex. For example...1.) Children can only play at the basketball court and playground, not in the grass (both locations are out of sight for me).Well, I have young children and like to keep an eye on them. They used to be able to play in the large grass field behind my apt. and I could watch them while making dinner. Not anymore! The management recently planted trees in the middle of the field, and now says the children are "loitering" if they play in the field because they will ruin the landscaping! 2.)There is no safe place for the children to ride bikes.So we regularly DRIVE to the park so that my children can play in a safe environment. 3.) There are many empty units. When I notified the leasing office, that the unlocked empty apts. were attracting squatters I was told they would be locked. Two weeks later they are STILL unlocked. There are huge chunks of glass behind my apartment, left when my neighbor moved and broke his coffee table 8 mos. ago! 4.) The management decided to remove access to garbage cans for some 80-100 units because "the trash cans were on the marketing path to the leasing office". Which means paying residents have to be inconvenienced because management doesn't want prospective tenants to be aware that people have garbage' Ridiculous! 5.The complex is currently under it's 2nd "multi million" dollar renovation in about 6 six years. I've been without window screens for about 4.5 years, because they were removed in order to paint the trim, but could not be replaced because the windows aren't a standard size and have to be "special ordered". Well, if you can imagine my power bill is higher than normal because I have to use my A/C on a warm day, instead of opening windows. 6.) Speaking of power...you will be locked in to East Point Power,which is a whole other story! 7.) There have been several shootings here even though it is a gated community. The management lures residents here with "No Credit Checks", which has lowered the type of families that used to live here. So even though there is a gate...all the "bad guys" all ready live here! 8.) I have a laundry list of deferred maintenance requests that have I have to continually call in. I am always told that they will be handled but treated like I'm the bad guy when I call to follow up. 9.)The water bill here just went up. We now pay $65.00! All of my friends with houses of comparable or larger sizes pay between $25-40 per month. 10.)Whenever I contact the office to tell them of my concerns, they treat me like I'm a nuisance. Only move here if you are willing to put up with this!
