Not worth the price

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I first looked at Walden Glen in the Spring of 2002 and was looking for an upscale apartment that had the amenities I wanted. I moved into Walden Glen and was happy, at first. The staff was personable and helpful, the apartment was spotless, and I thought that the higher rent was going to be worth it. That changed quickly. The apartment walls are pretty thin, and the noise that is created from other tenants is easily heard. You can hear people talking next door, even if you can't make out what is said. Additionally, Augusta has ants, but apparently the buildings weren't protected properly and now the ant barrier around the foundation keeps the colony in the building and we are inundated with them. As far as the staff, I have repeatedly had problems with appliances, the heating/cooling system, and the wiring. It can take up to four days for someone to come out and fix things, and it is often easier to do it yourself than to wait. Finally, the apartment managers decided to paint all of the buildings while we were still tenants. This required me to move everything I had on my balcony inside, taking up what little room I had, and others had to succumb to the painters covering their cars with plastic so that the spatter wouldn't hit their cars. In all, I think that a complex that charges what Walden Glen charges, almost $200 above the average Augusta monthly rent, should work hard to provide better service to its tenants. Other residents I talked to have been dealing with new construction on top of the things I have had to deal with. In all I believe that, in this case, the overall value of Walden Glen doesn't justify the price. If you want to give it a look make sure that you get the opinion of a resident BEFORE you sign the lease.
