Ok to Live, But Check It Out for Yourself

Our family has been here for 1 year. The community looks "real" nice as you are driving in. This is due to a lot of attention being spent on beautifying the front entrance and around the areas where potential residents would see. You will see beautiful flowers that you won't see anywhere else around the apartments. The lawn is cut back around the other areas, but it is not kept as manicured (pine straws, sidewalks blown off, sidewalks being powered washed, etc.) as the front. One good thing, there are beautiful trees planted around the entire complex, so when the trees started blooming in the spring, it added some beauty to the entire complex.

Maintenance is horrible! Management seems to care when you talk to them, but action is better than words! Our family and other residents have reported from very minor issues (clogged sinks, faucet problems, etc.) to more serious issues (air conditioning issues, roof issues, dishwasher issues, etc.) and have had to call back more than once for maintenance to take place. True enough, wear and tear happens, but having to call back several times to have issues taken care of is not quality care! There is one maintenance lady who seems to care about your issues and tries to do what she can to help.

In one area of the apartments, there were a lot of teenagers "hanging out", playing loud music, throwing trash on the grounds, etc. and it has been reported to management by many of us. It seems like this is under control now. They are not out playing loud music and we noticed trash being cleaned up. Other teenagers in other areas are out at times playing football and not just "hanging out".

There is word going around about the apartments are being purchased by new owners. I hope it will be for the better.

There are still a lot of changes that have to be taken place such as updating of the playground, adding stones around the wall covering the trash compactor, updating of old faucets (bathroom and kitchen), updating of carpets, even community activities that other apartments have, etc.

The apartment is doing a special. If you renew your lease, you will get free carpet cleaning. Renters/potential renters should be aware not to let them use your water to clean the carpet or they need to reimburse you money because it is your water bill!

There are some really nice residents here that I have met. For the most part, it is quiet. You can hear the birds chirping, sometimes hear children playing, etc. Parents for the most part seem to care about how their children are doing outside (not in the way of cars, being nice to each other, etc.).

This apartment complex has the potential to be a great community if management spent more time and money to keep it updated. Yes, it would be more money for the owner, but you have to invest to get back.

I put that I would not recommend the apartments because you have to put something, but I am in between recommending and not recommending. Please drive around on different days in the entire apartment area and even talk to residents to see if this is the place for you and/or your family. Fayette County has a good school system and until we purchase a home, the apartments have been ok for us. You should check it out for yourself.
