I've lived at Carrington Park for less than 6 months. Overall it's a good place to live. There's usually somebody attending to the grounds. The apartment is in good condition but noise from the dogs upstairs can be annoying with the running and the barking. The stairs are so poorly designed that normal walking sounds like somebody is stomping and you can feel the stairs move.

Cable is mandatory so add another $40 any monthly rent.

The poster before me talked about tire slashing and keying cars but I haven't seen or heard of anything like that. Renters have to go through a criminal background check so it cuts down on crime. The complex is gated but a few times there were idiots honking their horns at night hoping somebody would open the gates for them. The poster before me also talked about a "skinny old handy man" watching the gate but I've never seen him. There are two access gates so maybe he's at the other gate. I've never really engaged in much conversation with the neighbors but on the whole people keep to themselves and the place is peaceful. The exception would the one apartment in another building where some drunken guys in their 20s feel compelled to make comments on the people coming or going from the parking lot. I'm not sure if they are looking for a fight or are --- but either way it's just rude behavior. The Wal-Mart on Shallowford is ok but you may skip going there after dark since I had my car broken into while I was inside.

The apartments have no sidewalks outside the complex so you must own a car, walk in the dirt alongside busy Dawsonville Hwy. (not recommended) or catch the Red Rabbit Bus that goes down Otila Dr. further south.
