This community is very centrally located. There is a traffic light at the intersection with Dawsonville Hwy. The other apartments on Hwy 53 do not have such easy access. This past summer the pool was never crowded and the office staff was very helpful when the music did not suite the majority of the guest at the pool. They were always changing it upon request. There is plenty of parking. I feel safe here.
The gate has been broken two times in the last year. In the early part of 2007 some one drove through the exit gate and left it damaged. But it still operated properly. It was a few weeks before the managment company was able to repair it. When I inquired about the delay, I was told the hold up was due to the insurance company. Then in the fall of 2007 the entry gate was damaged. I understood the motors were burned out due to a guest of a resident who pushed the gates open. It seemed like a long time before the gates were closed again but when I asked the managment they told me it was in under investigation. They have been working properly for several months now. I have family and friends who live at Lanier Club and the gates there are NEVER closed.
Work orders are always processed when I call them in. The new maintanence staff are very helpful and have even carried my neighbors trash to the compactor following her illness. They change light bulbs and air filters. Other communities do not do that.
I have an upstairs neighbor that I do hear walking around but I consider the fact that I am living in an apartment. If there is a problem with sound that seems excessive I communicate it to the office and they respond to the need.
I know there have been lots of changes in the office staff and the property is no longer AMLI but I can see that it is the best kept property in Gainesville. All and All I could not imagine living in another place. I know the rent is higher than some of the others but it is worth it. I feel I get what I pay for, a wonderful place to live.
