I ama am moving out ASAP from the Retreat at McEver. I have lived here going on 5 yrs. The first 3 years were fine. No problems but occasional domestic issues during which police would be called. Now there is gang activity, murder, rape and robbery. I know of a delivery driver that was held at gunpoint in the parking lot outside of my building. A murder took place in the building next to me. I was approached late last Friday night by a man in the parking lot while exiting my vehicle. The man appeared to be drug crazed or insane. When I went to the office to give them a description so that others could be aware, the office manager apathetically asked me what they were suppose to do about it. The office is overwhelmed and they are allowing anyone in just to fill up empty apartments. There are no longer background checks being done and the office personnel is extremely rude and unreasonable. The new managers are seldom in the office and post signs saying they will be back at a certain time but when you go back at the time or even sometimes an hour or two later the sign is still there and they are still not in the office. This happens frequently. It is known now all over town as being the new "guetto" spot in town. Cars fly through the parking lot, kids run around unsupervised spraying paint on walls and vehicles. It is out of control here. Also, a new office policy is that those with pets must pay $500 PER pet deposit fee, which is ridiculous. Good thing I don't have pets. This is where I have called home for nearly five years...but it is no longer a safe haven for me. I am definitely moving to greener pastures.

Some people are sooo full of it...Things are going to happen no matter where you live. I've lived at the retreat for several years there has not been any rapes. Sounds like someone has it out for the office staff to me!!!!!!! LOL !
