Do NOT move here...

Because I believe in the positives in life, I will start with one - the grounds and the pool are very nice. The staff has it's moments, but most are very nice as well. I do feel mostly safe here but that isn't because of the gated entry (which is open quite a bit), but rather because these apartments are on the edge of the county. I was thrilled to move into my apartment, even though it is pricey.
Unfortunetly, the negatives of Villas at Hampton outway the positive and it has been a nightmare. I don't know if it is just building 1 or if all of the apartments are the same, but there were cracks in the crown molding in the living room, which were there when we moved in. They appeared to be put up that way (see pictures). That is something that I could live with. Next came the master bathroom tub's caulking. It cracked, we had it fixed, it cracked again, and was fixed, and now once again... it's cracked (see pictures). I was told by the staff to turn on the fan, which did nothing to keep it from cracking. Again, something that could be lived with although it is going to cause mold to grow. The desk area is a nice little area big enough for the monitor to sit on it, but it can't hold the weight and is coming apart from itself (picture). The most recent problem is ants. They aren't just coming in from under the door, but rather from the walls and floor. They are coming in from under the floor molding and under the carpet (both shown in pictures). My last issue with Villas at Hampton is the parking. There is no assigned spaces and some people abuse the freedom to park wherever they choose. A neighbor with a garage and driveway has 3 cars, one of which is parked inside the garage, the other 2 are as close to his apartment as they can be. This causing myself and boyfriend to park out vehicles by the park. Some children from the park were throwing rocks and when something was said to them, they threw some into the air, and when they saw that the rocks his our vehicles, they ran. One of our vehicles resulted in 2 spider cracks in the windshield and a 6 inch crack. None of which was paid for and barely appologized for from the apartment complex. Again we were basically told, "you shouldn't have parked there and what do you expect when children are playing." In the complexes defense, a note was sent out, but it was very minimal in what actually happened.
I have never wanted to move out of an apartment so badly. And it is awful because I was very excited to move in. I would not recomend Villas at Hampton to anyone. It is too pricey for what you receive.
