"Steady Decline"

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009
We have lived at the Columns @ Hiram for 3 years and decided not to renew our lease. This place has steadily declined and show no signs of improvement. I would not recommend it for my family and/or friends. My advice to perspective residents is consider the following BEFORE you sign a lease.
1.Bugs, bugs, & more bugs - an endless variety of creatures including spiders, roaches, ants, gnats, and "pinchers"' that are a nuisance year round (ants swarm the apartment in the winter & spiders in the summer). There is pest control that will spray your apartment every Monday as needed. But, it really doesn't help.
2.The Grounds - dog poop, cigarette butts, dirty breezeways, balconies that look like a junkyard, stray cats. The pinestraw near my windows & balcony smells awful because it's filled with tons of dog & cat poop.
3.NOISY, NOISY, NOISY - The construction is so poor that you can hear just about everything in the surrounding apartments...people using the bathroom, babies crying, children running, loud televisions & music, domestic arguments, dogs barking, etc. It's HORRIBLE!!!
4.The rent increases each year as the quality of the place decreases. The apartments are outdated compared to other apartment communities in the area that are cheaper & remodeled.
Some of the pros of living at the Columns @ Hiram is maintenance. They reposnd very quickly at least within 24 hrs. The office staff is friendly and helpful.
