I have been living in Fieldstone for almost a year. The first thing that attracted me the most, was that it was gated, and how well maintained was the landscaping, pool and common areas such as clubhouse, clothes center, and playground.
To make it simple and short here are the good things:
1. Is on bus route (C-Tran).
2. School buses stop right in front of the complex.
Elementary kids go to Mount Zion Elementary School.
High School Kids goes to Mt Zion High School.
2. It has a clothes center. Kitchen and bathrooms are good size and very comfortable.
3. Has a "Cares" team, with monthly activities for children and residents.
4. Once a month they have a parents night out and you can drop the kids at the clubhouse and enjoy some alone time. They also have bible study groups.
5. Almost every single week, I see the landscaping truck giving maintenance to the grounds. Lots of flowers and cherry blossom trees.
6. They have a very good pest control services.
&. Pool is nice.
7. Lots of military, and several police officers live within the complex.
8. Resident Referral fee: $400.00
9. Overall, the environment is very quiet and low key.
10. Is 20-30 minutes from Atlanta.
11. Close to interstate 75, and 675.
12. Shopping!! is close to tons of stores, 1 mall (southlake mall), tons of supermarkets such as Publix, Ingles, kroger, and 1 farmers markets in Tara Blvd. Kohls, Brandsmart, CVS pharmacy, Payless, Wendys, BP gasoline, dry cleaners, and Garden Ridge are 3 minutes from the complex. However in highway 138 4 minutes from apartment 5 at most in car, there are tons of places to eat.
13. One thrift store, and 2 goodwill are also close.
14. Clayton center of performing arts is across the street.
15. Kaiser Permanente medical facilities, and Children Healthcare of Atlanta (Rehabilitation Services) are in close proximity too.
16. Huge AMC theaters and Petsmart in Mt Zion road (5 minutes in car).
17. I love that the have "sundaes on sunday" events for free, and "free pizza nights (this is a once a month events).
The Bad Things
1. My toilet is always flooded.
2. Carpet on entire apartment minus kitchen and bathrooms. They get dirty very easily.
3. We have been constantly sick since moving. Dirty ducts or Dirty Filter. Who knows.
4. Demographics. Not very balanced. 85 % are A-f-r-i-c-a-n-Americans, the rest are Caucasians, and very small portion are H-i-s-p-a-n-i-c-s or other races.
5. Playground is tiny, and is more for kids under 5. For bigger kids there is basically nothing for them. Not even a basketball hoop. The poor kids all the do is to ride their bicycles up and down the complex (which is really not that big).
5. Management, not feeling comfortable trusting them. They tend to treat you better if you are A-f-r-i-c-a-n-American.
The Ugly:
1. Not all apartments have intrusion alarms.
2. Cars have been stolen from parking lot.
3. Break-ins, garden levels have the highest risk, and the apartments at the very end.
4. Even that is gated, you can still get inside, steal a car, and the gate will open automatically. There are no cameras.
5. Pet fee $350.00
6. If you want direct tv the management will force you to a pay an enormous and incredible ridiculous price so you can install the dish.
7. They will lie and say that they never had a break in or cars stolen from their property. This information is FALSE. Ask any resident. Ask about the numerous memos...

Overall I am getting used to living in Fieldstone. However, I am very angry to see an employee writing as if they were a tenant for the whole purpose to preserve the complex reputation and rating. Newsflash!! I keep all the memos. You want me to scanned them, and share to link for everyone to see?

I lived at Fieldstone Glen for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Maintenance and staff was very friendly and accomodating. Grounds kept clean and I always felt safe in the community even when I used the pool at night. I was single at the time I resided at the community, lived on the first floor and worked 7am- 9pm 6 days a week. In addition I always drove the latest model car and never had an issue with a break in or stolen vehicle. I highly recommend the property as a great place to live.
