I think it's okay...

I have lived here for about a year and a half now & I actually like the place. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones b/c I don't have a roach problem (thank God). Because if I did, I would be out of this place!!! Don't get me wrong, honestly, I have had 3 roaches w/ in a year & a half (big ass roaches too ya'll) come through the vent fan in my bathroom. But not all over the place like some people & hopefully those will be the only roaches I ever see here. I do however have an occasional ant problem & the pest control guy said they were coming from the pipes (wtf). But they always get rid of them so it doesn't really bother me. Also when I first moved in I tried to get cable from Comcast & discovered that the wires needed to provide my apartment w/ cable were somehow running into my neighbors apartment. Needless to say, after about a month the problem was not fixed so I had to get DirecTV. But thankfully I lived on a side of the complex which is able to receive a signal from the DirecTV satellite, b/c if not I would not be able to have cable. As far as the office staff, everyone is always helpful & polite to me. Anthony is excellent & I think he actually lives on the grounds, Kyle is very helpful also. I'm not sure if Jennifer is still the property manager b/c I haven't seen her in a few months, but she always, always did her best to assist me & I have had absolutley no problems with her. I believe someone in an earlier post said something about Jermaine...now he was truly incompetent in my opinion, very polite, but he was simply clueless. But maybe that's why he no here, I don't know. And the maintenance staff is new so I haven't had time to really meet them yet. But I did not really have a problem with the old staff. I will admit, they were a little slow, but overall I rarely had to call on them...like I said I guess I'm one of the lucky few.

But for the most part I don't think the other people are lying...like I said I'm just one of the lucky ones. I have noticed that the quality of people who are being allowed to move into these apartments is going down; which my explain the roach problem. One of my only complaints is that many of the teenage children are often loud, lean or sit on the cars, fight & curse to what seems to be the top of their lungs sometimes. And there seem to be a lot of people who let their dogs roam free at night. Overall, I think Monterey Village is an okay place to live. It's not the best & it's not the worst...it's simply okay. It's a community of working-class people & that's what I liked about it. Compared to some of the surrounding apartment communities in the area, I think it's a very good choice...but you know what they say...to each his own.
