Completely ripped off

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
When I moved in I was forced to pay $1000 in various fees and deposits. I recently moved out and was sent an additional bill for $120 in "damages". When I moved in I paid $90 for three gate cards and then received a bill claiming that 2 were missing and was charged AGAIN for $60. And all of the cards had been turned in. We were also charged $30 for a missing set of keys when both of us turned ours in and they refuse to take that charge away. Also we were charged for having the carpet replaced, which we had cleaned before we moved out and was not in bad condition. They claimed there were various pet stains: Okay then what about the $350 I paid in a pet fee' And what about the rest of the money I had to shell out when I moved in' Also there was a leak IN MY CLOSET and that practically ruined the carpet that I had to call and ask them to come fix on three occasions... never got fixed. Also the place is infested with bugs. At one point I found about 75 milipedes crawling around my apartment.. frequent scorpions, and I actually saw bugs crawling out of the drains in my shower. When I moved in they didn't even have the apartment ready. I went up that morning to get the keys and they asked me if I could move in the next day instead, at which I completely refused to do.
Additionally.. sure they take care of the shrubs in areas that people can drive by and see, but if you have an apartment that faces the woods, they rarely trim the shrubs and they grow up very high. Also I had a problem with people in nearby apartments just letting their dogs out to do their business and they'd walk up to the side of my patio and pee on the railing or go outside my window. It got so bad that I could never even open the windows because it smelled so bad. I called and asked the staff to do something about it, but it never stopped. They said they'd send someone out to clean it up and they never did.
The washer and drier included with my apartment were also in very poor condition. I had to dry everything twice and they would never come to fix it. I already had my own washer and drier prior to moving in and I asked if they would let me just use mine and they refused.
When I called to dispute the bill with the leasing office the woman I spoke with (Laura) was extremely rude to me and basically said, "Too bad. Deal with it. If we can't find the set of keys that are missing, too bad you have to pay anyway."
Really. How professional is that' How do they expect people to afford to move in when they charge all of these ridiculous fees then turn around and charge you more when you move out because they conveniently lost the gate cards or keys that we physically handed to a staff member. Incompetency is not acceptable.
Please don't waste your time with this place. They are many other nice places in the area that won't charge you an arm and a leg to live in sub-par conditions. And this is supposed to be a luxury apartment complex. Hah.
