When we first moved here, we thought it was the most beautiful, peaceful, quiet community in the best location in Kennesaw. Our opinion changed when the partying started. There are a lot of college students here, who drink, drive, hang over their balconies till all hours, shouting, swearing and laughing, and they don't care if you call the police. We have complained to the office and called the Cobb County police so many times, I've lost count. The police either don't show up, or join the party and start hitting on the girls. I've seen it. It is ridiculous. Management "reads a script" about what they're going to do, but they don't do much of anything to address noise problems. We currently have a resident in our building, who speeds recklessly through the complex, revving his engine and squalling his tires in front of the building next to the playground, where several small children frequently play. Office staff admit they have seen him do it. A few weeks ago, three families in my building called the police in one night to report fighting in the parking lot. The police never came, until 8 a.m., when someone called to report that their vehicle had been broken into. Two more vehicles were discovered to have been broken into as well, windows all smashed.
In spite of three calls within a few hours of each other, from 3 different apts. in the same building, reporting a fight, the police did not show. Their only response was that they were busy. As a result, three families have had to pay out of pocket to have their vehicles repaired, and the office, knowing who is responsible, allows them to continue to live here. As others have stated, I have found some, though not all, of the office staff very condescending to the point of rudeness at times.
There is a rule against alcohol at the pool, but it is monopolized by college students with coolers full of beer all summer long. No one else can enjoy it once they arrive. Families with small children leave because of the foul language that is shouted around...and the pool is right behind and in full view of the office. The staff are aware of what goes on, they simply don't address it.
Many tenants have departed in our time here because of the noise and behavior problems. Nevertheless, we remain here because the location suits us very well, and it is a very beautiful and peaceful place after the drunks pass out. We are always on the lookout for a nicer place nearby because we definitely want to stay in this area, but not necessarily in this complex unless the management can demonstrate that they are taking steps to get a grip on some of the more serious problems that are occurring.

Thank you for your review. It has the ring of truth, though I'm not a tenant. But I was considering this place until recently. It had a lot of noise just from traffic (the highway & Barrett Pkwy). I did like the trees there, esp. for those bldgs w/ direct wooded views (NOT parking lot views). But as I was looking the place over, I noticed many fast & rude drivers & I saw lots of college types about. Your review is very good food for thought.
I was able to find an apt @ Trees Of Kennesaw that is in a very quiet isolated spot at the back, surrounded by only the large meadow there & a wooded creek & I saw more non-college working family types than @ AMLI. It costs more (but it's really a large F/P!), but perhaps that will discourage the immature spoiled brat college types!

I totally agree. There are too many college students in these apartments. There should be more strict rules to counter these issues. Having a bunch of college students living here just gives AMLI a really bad reputation. I moved out because of this and because AMLI is increasing rent even with this economy. Rent should be going down instead. I'm seeing more and more empty units. This is ridiculous.

Interestingly, while I was posting my review last night, I was waiting for the Cobb police to respond to yet another call from my building. The "college students" were out on their deck, firing an air gun into the parking lot full of cars. I don't know whether the police ever showed up, but the guys with the air gun revved up their engines and took off at 12:30 a.m. Complete and total disregard for everyone living here.

Wow. So, every college student is "immature," "spoiled brat college types," who "race recklessly," "rev their engines," "shoot air guns," "fight," "drink at the pool," "party wildly," etc.? All I'm reading are complaints about the people who live here. What you should consider about living in Kennesaw (and less than a couple miles from a college campus) is that this is A COLLEGE TOWN. Don't blame the complex or its residents. You can't ban college students from moving into an apartment complex; that would be simply a rediculous and financially irresponsible action on the leasing office's part. If you want to live in a peaceful environment, simply move farther from the campus. I am a college student, and I live in the Trees of Kennesaw Apartment Complex. I personally enjoy the peace and quiet. Instead of complaining, just move.
