I have lost more sleep in the past year than I have in my entire life. The noise level in my apartment is unbearable. I feel like I'm living in a Motel 6 with cardboard boxes for walls and floors. I can hear the guy above me every time he pees and every time he opens and closes a drawer or cabinet. And don't get me started on the noise he makes when he walks. But it's not just the noise. When he walks it literally rattles every wall, floor and ceiling in my apartment. He loves to pace in the bedroom throughout the night. This is great for him but lousy for me since his bedroom is directly above mine. I've had to move into the extra bedroom just to get some sleep. When the people below me slam their door (which they do quite often) it literally levitates my floor. This is something I would expect from the low rent district. But for the money I'm paying, I expect better. It seems that more and more "young adults" are moving in. They think nothing of driving through the complex with their engines revving and their music blaring at all hours of the night. And what's up with people standing on their porches talking loudly on the phone at 2 a.m.' Maybe if there were some trees in the complex, it would stop the noise from bouncing off every building. I love the look of my apartment it really feels like a home and not an apartment. However, the shoddy construction, non-existent soundproofing and noise level will stop me from renewing my lease.

You are so right, I also have the same problem and will be moving out soon.
