I've lived in Summit Shiloh for a year and six months. I give it mixed reviews. Originally, I had signed a six month lease with a move in special. Well, when it came time to renew my lease I had not looked for another place because I was planning on staying here. They raised my rent $50. If I had known it was going to go up, I would have moved. The apartment is not too bad, it's very drafty in the winter around the windows, but that's to be expected in an apartment. The vaulted ceilings are a power bill nightmare, definately won't be looking for an apartment with those again! All in all, the apartment itself is nice, but you can hear the elephant upstairs stomping around getting ready for work. Maintenance is quick to arrive and always do quality work. Of course, I don't expect them to change light bulbs!
As for the pet policy, it's a little screwed up. I got a cat, and paid the $500 non-refundable pet deposit. When I got a dog, they demanded another non-refundable deposit. I said no, I think $500 is enough to cover both pets. If you stand your ground they will back down. I think when I said, "You want $1000 dollars for a non-refundable pet deposit' You're out of your mind. I've already paid the deposit." I left it at that.
Yeah, the women in the leasing office are skanky looking, I just try to avoid them. They've never been rude, just extremely fake nice.
There isn't dog ---- near my building, my boyfriend and I clean up after our dog. If you go to the area around the courtyard, however, there is dog ---- EVERYWHERE. Just don't step off the path and you should be okay.
The fitness room was a joke until a month ago when they put an elliptical machine in and fixed the air conditioner. I never used it, it was always 90 degrees in that room all summer long.
The car wash doesn't work, with the exception of the vacuumn.
That said, it's not a bad place to live, but definately not worth the rent.
