When first looking at Camden I was pleased with the grounds. But after talking with the leasing ladies I should have realized there would be trouble. At first one agent got an attitude with me about installing ceiling fans. My previous complpex was happy to install whatever we needed and did so right away. At Camden they said since it's not a priority that they wouldn't do it and because their maintenance man was old so it was a liability. Afterwards it started raining really bad to the point where a leak developed over our fireplace. It took them six months and numerous phone calls to get someone to look at it and then no one fixed our ceiling. They repaired the room which is understandable but still left us with a gaping whole in our ceiling. Then our dishwasher was not cleaning dishes properly so we asked to have someone look at it. The same leasing lady told us to buy some Jet Dry and that was it. Our dishwasher still didn't clean and our garbage disposal was backing up and leaving food in our sinks. Then came the roaches. Appearantly the tenants on the first floor had an infestation that spread through our entire building. We had to have an exterminator come to our apartment at least six times. We emptied out our cabinets and scrubbed them clean and still nothing was working. We were promised that the problem would be fixed and the people who lived on the first floor would be removed if the problem persisted. Over a month went by and no one moved but we still had bugs. One crawled out of my microwave after I just finished cooking dinner. It was disgusting. Also the gates in the complex stopped working a while ago and when we called about them, the office told us that since they are broken and Camden was talking with corporate about taking them down nothing was going to be done. Well our rent was never adjusted from paying more for gate to not paying for one at all and they still remain broken. Not that I'm saying this is related but shortly after they stopped working someone had their wheels stolen off their car and the car was placed on rocks (not bricks but rocks) Until recently we haven't had any problems but it's a little too late to be happy about it. So I'm glad to be moving out! But now we have to pay a cleaning fee for our apartment otherwise they will charge us for anything they have written down on this list they provide you and it isn't cheap! So it's pay them $100 to clean or clean it yourself and still pay for whatever they see as a problem. In my opinion I shouldn't have to pay anything. Oh and the lightbulb has been out in our fridge for over 6 months and they still haven't fixed it after we have called...

I totally agree. It was a disaster living there. Too many students, no parking and I totally agree with your feelings about the leasing staff, I was fooled too. A shade tree leasing staff. Their time is coming when they will have to answer to their under-handedness. They don't know, but it's going to happen and they won't be able to save themselves. Shade tree leasing offices never survive.
