If the perfect place to live has police blockades, strange neighbors, aggressive breeds and numerous interior issues... then this place is great.

Before the lease began: A week before we moved in (in june), the office calls us to tell us that the apartment we reserved in march, was double leased and we were the ones told to pick another place that was on the third floor and wouldnt be ready for another 6 weeks. We complained saying we reserved it first. The office proceeded to tell us three different stories about how it happened and told us even if we got the original apartment it wouldnt be upgraded by the time we moved in. The staff is rude and cannot get their story correct. Granted half of our first months rent taken care of, we moved in to wet carpet and an outdated kitchen.

The First Three Months: The first day we figure out that there is no service for anyone in our building, and half our power outlets dont work. Drains are clogged with nappy hair. So we had to add a phone service to our comcast. After the carpet dried we noticed the carpet didnt fit the room (you could pull up the entire carpet with no resistence. there were no tacks!!) so after we made the service request the third week were here and two and a half months later we finally got the carpet replaced. in the "laundry room" has no sufficient shelving since a shelf couldnt hold a bottle of bleach and laundry detergent without breaking off the wall. and that wasnt just one shelf but three out of four. the washer connection has a constant leak. no laundry facility. the gym was broken into by a resident and stole the 42 inch tv.

The next three months: our front door has fist prints dented into it by our neighbor below us. the neighbor above us stalks us and notices when guys are not in the apartment and then proceeds to try to get in our apartment to borrow a wrench. our nice neighbors car was broken into and had their spare keys to the car and the apartment taken. my black lab puppy was mauled by a chow and a boxer. a grey hound died in a dog fight with a pit bull. our apartment was broken into and the front office didnt do a thing about it. The drawer faces in our kitchen do not stay attached in our newly updated kitchen. People walk around the complex selling drugs to anyone. there was a police blockade three days after christmas looking for someone that lived in the complex.

for a two bed/ two bath (with good space) 940 alone for rent not including anything else. with everything included its 1350 a month. we dont feel like it is worth what we are paying for and already looking for a different apartment.

we will update this again in six months to tell you about the end... to be continued

I feel your pain. The office gave us guff too; we were paying for a work out room to use too but they were in the process of "remodeling it". The process took over 6 months. None of the keys worked in the laundry room or the w/o room before they closed them too. We liked the space, but its definitely not worth the trouble or the money. Every morning when we would go to work, there would be trash strewn about the complex. Like some careless slob threw their trash on the back of their vehicles and slammed on the gas. We saw the car do it one day leaving the complex and they were just laughin away... we didnt know if it was the same individual. Also, with the work orders put in, they took us about 3-4 weeks too. We had a very awful and pungent odor coming from our sinks in our bathrooms. We requested they please come out to check it out and the woman in the office told us it was probably nail polish remover and to not worry about it that it would go away... for the next couple of weeks we kept calling and calling about the terrible smell. It smelled like a sewage line break. A couple of weeks later they came out with some Draino. Now, why didnt WE think of that??.... needless to say the smell stayed and eventually, right before we left it got so bad you could smell it right as you walked in the front door. It was so embarrassing for us to have people over. We just couldnt wait to leave. We asked for upgrades in the kitchen but they said they couldnt do it because they ran out of funding to finish all the apartments, and all the apartments were already booked. They tried to sell us rent for 2008-2009, in the same layout as yours, for $1,050. We were paying 900 originally so the price jump was a definite surprise since we didnt have the upgrades. They obviously aren't the smartest people though. We are now at a much MUCH nicer area, with a garage, for 1150 a month... water bill included. It's in Atlanta but we have 1 landlord. not an office. you should try to rent a house. Spend your money on something with quality, from an individual looking to rent out their second place. Its the best bet. In our case it worked out in the best possible way. Good luck in the future...

It's been 6 months-I want an update! I'll be moving to Atlanta in the next month and I want to know if this place is any better now. Those porches are so appealing!
