THIS WAS POSTED NOT LONG AFTER I MOVED IN
I just moved in to a ground floor apartment a couple of months ago. I have had a problem with an upstairs neighbor with several young children. It has, on all too many occasions, sounded like they were trying to teach elephants to bowl above me. However, management has been responsive and has talked to them on at least two occasions. The latest info I have is that they are going to be offered a ground floor apartment to move to or be evicted.
While it is impossible to avoid problems sometimes, management here is doing a good job so far of dealing with them.
They seem to want to build a reputation as a safe and pleasant place to live and are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.

That was then-this is now
I don't know if the management cannot do anything or don't want to. I only know my life here has been a living hell. In spite of trying to be nice to my upstairs neighbors and failing. In spite of multiple complaints to management (I can't remember how many now). My upstairs neighbors continue to break the rules by leaving bikes and toys blocking the breezeway. The office even issued a "three strikes and you are out" edict in writing, yet the people above me have had one heck of a lot more than three and they are still here.
But the worst is that there are three young children who are totally undisciplined and continue, on a regular basis, to make so much ruckus that my cieling fan and chandelier have litteraly shook for as much as 5 and 6 hours at a time. It sounds like they are running a bowling alley for elephants over my head.
At this point I am preparing to document the problems in preparation to breaking my lease. Hell will freeze over before I renew my lease.
