What are the guidelines when someone (like a boy or girlfriend) decides to move in with you in a three bedroom apartment (where there are two other roommates there already). Can you get in trouble with your apartment complex... if the you and your boy/girlfriend decide to split the rent of the room.(which is the your orginal part of the rent with the other roommates) Also, if the your friend chips in on electric and water and chores.. do you think they should have to help pay the rent of the other roommates'''

You should notify the leasing office in writing but it is not their responsibility to find another roommate to fill your room. The other roommates will be responsible for the remaining balance.

I lived there last year and my roommate had her boyfriend living there and we had a 2 bedroom. I didn't approve and when I went to the leasing office...they said it was between me and her. The way I see it...as long as you are respectful and your roommates don't mind...it shouldn't be an issue
