Not worth it.

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
I first moved in November 2001, from that point on its been nothing but downhill. The only reason, I have remained is because of the rent and I am trying to purchase my first home so I can move out as quickly as possible. The first problem was my central air unit, it stopped working for about a week, my apartment was never below 90 degrees, eventually it was fixed or so I thought it was. In another incident, I woke up one morning to find the carpet in my bedroom closet completely soaked in water, as well as, the carpet in the hallway in front of the closet where the hot water heater and heating unit are located. Any boxes I had on the floor of the closet were ruined, anything inside of them was ruined. I called them from work that morning to get the problem resolved, their solution was to place a dehumidifier in the middle of the closet floor and just leave it there. It did nothing to solve the wet carpet, which eventually just dried up.
Again the same problem occurred, when I came home one evening and found the bedroom closet carpet soaked with water. Fortunately, I purchased Rubbermaid containers after the first incident and had stored the remainder of my stuff in those. I pulled out the containers and again found water completely soaking the carpet, as well as, the baseboards. Even after the problem was apparently fixed, the only thing that was done was to wet vac the carpet and leave it down. It was never pulled up and replaced. The noise level is atrocious, I have had people next door playing music at 2 a.m. that I could clearly hear. The area is poorly lit for the security conscious, the light outside my apartment has not worked since I moved in. My car was stolen in January 2003, in front of my apartment, once I informed management and suggested sending out a notice to alert others, it was never done. In fact, nothing was done about it.
Now, for the third time in the three years I had the displeasure to live there, once again I arrived at the apartment last night (Feb. 24) to find the hallway, part of the bedroom floor, the laundry room floor, and part of the floor in the den and behind the entertainment center completely soaked with water. This is something a tenant should not have to deal with after being at work for 10 hours. I did not get the chance to call maintenance because it was late, I was tired and I had hurry and move things to save whatever I could. Management performance is lackluster at best, I have seen how they respond to other requests. And internal communication is less than stellar, they never seem to know what is going on and if they do, it is not communicated to the rest of the staff.
Do yourself a favor, its best to avoid becoming a tenant at this property. In the long run, it simply is not worth the frustration. If you have to pay an extra $200 a month in rent somewhere else for better quality and a more professional staff then pay the extra. I am getting out as soon as I can.
