First of off, there's more to the story. I was there along with the 27 Gwinnett County cops plus a couple hundred residents. The cops started showing up around 4:00 and left around midnight. The guy didn't get away. How could he' The freaking swat team was here with snipers. I know the layout of these apartments. I've been in all seven floorplans. I've lived in a lot of apartments and this guy didn't escape; he wasn't here.
The thing is - this guy didn't even live here. He wasn't on the lease, etc. Who knows how much time he spent here. I live in building three and this all happened in building five. I've lived in two other 5375 apartments in the past three years as well. I know the staff, etc. The place is great. It's gated and they bake cookies everyday for you as well as do your laundry.
If you read this AJC piece, it makes it sound like this is crack alley - it's not.
When all this nonsence broke out the other night, Robin, the property manager, bought pizza for all the cops, as well as all of the residents out in the parking lot - waiting for a shootout. Big drama - no action.
Just because there are crazy people out there - doesn't mean in and of itself - that this place is crazy or that it's a bad place to live. Because, it's not.
Look around - crime knows no address. It's just a sign of the times.
So, the moral of the story is :: don't mess with Gwinnett County Cops and don't judge places by the company they keep, or in this case - the company that others keep.
It is what it is - db g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd

Crumblin has two prior convictions in South Carolina in 1994 and 1996, both involving crack cocaine distribution, according to Josh Gelinas, spokesman for the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
An obvious attempt at management doing damage control. They do your laundry for you here???? LOL. Look folks, you are putting your safety and personal well being at risk living in most apartments in gwinnett county. They will rent to anyone and put your life in danger, even to people with convictions involving crack cocaine distribution at 5375 Sugarloaf Apartments for a buck. Once again, rent at your own risk. The hidden dangers and high price of renting exposed by apartmentratings.com. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

That's not true. Shop around. Like the other two cool places around sugarloaf, they don't just rent to anyone. Ask them. Give them money, as in cash, see what they say. Throw out a wad of cash, say a whole year's worth of rent. Tell them that money is king - and that you're a broker and that you prefer to deal in hard currency. Tell them that you know all about the law as it relates to fair housing and that you're the money. They won't even show you an apartment. Call 'em on it. I'm sure it'll work out just as you say.
Give me a break. Note to self - again - this guy didn't live here. Though I'm sure he's a bad guy, but the fact is, he didn't live here. Ask around. If someone called and said someone is here and I don't think he should be - the cops could be called because he would be tresspassing. There's only 4 cops that live here. Their cars are parked here every day of the week. It's not like you can miss them as you roll through the gate.
People have no idea how bad housing can be. When people say - you're warned, then you may as well say - you're warned about living in the greater ATL - ok. But, if you think this is bad, check out downtown brother man. Bad - as a concept...is relative.
