Overall Very Nice

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2005
I have lived in this community since 2001 and have found it to be over all very pleasant.
Location: It has a great location, very convenient as it is close to great restaurants and shopping.
Appearance: The apartments themselves are great, with tall ceilings and crown moldings & custom interiors. The exteriors were just recently painted. Not a color I would have chosen but could have been worse. The paint job was a little sloppy and you can tell it most on the doors and railings up the stairwells.
Bugs: I did have an ant problem the first year, but since then I've not seen one since.
Maintenance: The current maintenance guys are great. Basil is very sweet and always smiling. I have had my problems in the past with it taking a long time to get repairs done. But it has improved every year and now is better than ever.
Office: The office staff has changed many many times. It definitely has a very high turnover which is unfortunate as they've had some really great people working for them like D.J., Lisha, Karen, & David. And then they have people like Kerry, whom I've had many problems with.
Noise: All in all, not bad. We do have the occasional loud stereo or booming car system. But these walls are pretty thick and I really haven't had any real problems with noise.
Amenities: The car care center has been out of order for most of my time here due to kids playing with it. But now with the new playground the children are not causing many problems. The gates are another issue. They are constantly broken, and when they are not broken, people are piggy backing in behind you. The new speed bumps have definitely helped with that, but not fixed the problem all together. I honestly haven't used the pool or gym.
Activities: They are ok; I know they could definitely be better. But in order for that to happen people living here have to care and get involved. The office has tried on many occasions to do activities even offering deals of money off your rent and people still don't participate. The staff here does the best it can in this matter. It's the residents who don't.
Price: I'd say it's fair IF you can get in on a good DEAL. I've had to fight and push to keep my rent down every year with renewing though, but so far so good. I haven't had too much a problem with it. Just takes some negotiations.
Parking: There are some buildings that are definitely lacking parking. But for the most part, there is plenty of parking spaces that are close. You're not likely to park right in front of your door. But usually not far - the later at night you park the worse it is.
Overall- I'd definitely recommend this place. I've lived here a long time and have seen a lot of changes, in policies, staff, general upkeep and much more. There have been fluctuations in everything. But it all seems to be getting better now. I will probably be leaving in 6 months when my lease runs out but only because my commute to work every day is way too long now that I've changed jobs. Otherwise I'd gladly renew, if the price was right.
