It's OK, if you're not home much

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I've lived here for almost two years and plan on renewing my lease only because of my financial situation. When I moved in there was a roach problem that I had to solve myself since the office management didn't seem to care. They say that they spray for bugs on a regular basis but in the two years I've lived here my apartment has never been sprayed.
There has been several car thefts and break ins, but at lease the office notifies the residence of the thefts. Why they bother, I don't know. Gangs of children play in the street unsupervised. Groups of teenagers all the way down to groups of elementary kids. I cant let my daughter play outside because the other kids are so mean and destructive. I've seen kids as young as two outside at night screaming their head off till 11:00pm, unsupervised of course. Just a few weeks ago a couple teenagers where beat up so badly that one of them wasnt even recognizable. There was a domestic dispute right outside my window last month. I called the so called security officer where you have to leave a message. I doubt anyone responded.
But I do have to say Im glad there is a security patrol at night now. It makes me feel slightly safer but I still plan on buying a gun to protect my daughter and myself.
My neighbors are so loud above me that you would think that theyre doing belly flops on to the floor. It literally shakes the light fixtures. I wont report this to the office because the person who lives up there is psychotic and I dont need that kind of stress.
The department of health and safety should inspect the swimming pools. When we were walking back to our apartment after swimming one day a little boy asked us if we had been to the pool, then informed me that some kid vomited in the pool and no one cleaned it or closed the pool until it was cleaned. I wanted to throw up my self after learning that. A few days later my daughter got a nasty rash all over her chest from something in the water. Needless to say, that was the last time we used the pool.
Ive learned that as long as I dont leave my apartment after dark, dont swim in the pools, spray for bugs regularly, sleep with a hammer or a baseball bat at arms length, avoid talking to any of my neighbors, and pray for Gods protection on a nightly basis; I think Ill be all right.
