Could be better

So I moved into Madison Sound 5/12 and upon move in we had a HUGE ant problem. There were ants crawling in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. After about 1 week the pest control came and we finally had to add our own bait to keep the ants from recurring. Also, our AC did not work the first month we arrived. It would turn on, but no air would come out (nice bump to our power bill).

Also the windows in the units are HUGE so it is not a very energy efficient apartment. In the winter you will freeze because the windows are not sealed properly and lets an abundance of cold air in which in turn causes you to turn your heat up and you lose money. Again the heat unit will run, but air does not come out.

As many other residents noted it is a gated community about 1/3 of the time. As of February the gates have been broken on my side of the community and as of 4/6 the exit gate of the community has been completely ripped off and is laying on the ground by the exit. Very tacky. No one has made any effort to fix it or remove the broken gate from the ground.

Also beware when you're leaving the apartment in the morning or afternoon hours at the maintenance staff like to leave their personal vehicles parked on the curb which creates a blind spot when you're pulling out and I have had a few close calls with other vehicles coming from my perpendicular right. Safety does not seem to be an option here.

Also beware of when your neighbors move out, especially above you. We were awaken at 6am so that they could rip up and replace the carpet upstairs. The next day they arrived at 6:30am to clean the rest of the apartment.

All in all it's not a bad place but there is a lot that they need to work on in order to make this a more desirable place to live. I did not expect to get this while paying $845 a month.
