YOU MUST READ THIS--Getting WORSE

Having moved in shortly after these apartments were built, I've seen the maintenace of everything going into slow decline. The grass used to be seeded on a regular basis. Now it's always half brown sod. The computer room used to be nice and new. Some kids ripped the covers off the speakers about a year after the place was built and they were never replaced. When the computer connection went down, it DID take over a month for the office to fix it. One of the maintenance men, who is now gone, always gave me the creeps. I wondered about his mental capacity. He seems to have been replaced by another who also seems a bit off. On more than one occasion, I have seen him sit on the edge of his car in the parking lot or hanging out by one of the mail kiosks harrassing every woman that walks by. He doesn't say anything lewd, but he is very creepy and just starts talking without any initiation and the only way to get him to stop is to just walk away. To make matters worse, this person LIVES here and does this several times a month. I don't feel comfortable in my own neighborhood anymore. I had a discussion with some other tenants who are suing the previous owner company of the complex, due to a theft by a maintenance man.....who also STILL works at the complex. There was an eye witness on the police report who identified him as going into the victim's apartment on the day of the theft, but the office has no record of planned maintenance. There have been 2 disturbing incidents of VIOLENCE, in the past year. The first involved someone shooting at one of the buildings in the middle of the night. I was out of town but came home to find a note about it on my door. The other involved 2 men trying to beat each other to a pulp outside of the main gate one weekday afternoon. I watched as they scrapped and then the police came (there were at least 3 police cars involved) and removed the men from the property. One of the major requirements I had for moving into this apartment complex had to do with having 24 hour gym access. My schedule, like many others who live here is sporadic, so I can only go in the mornings...BUT the new company now locks access to the main building that houses the gym after hours AND the gym is also needs major repair. FIRST, the clock needed a new battery. I waited a month, no one replaced it so I replaced it myself. Then the clock broke. It staid for 2 months and then was removed and never replaced. THEN the remote for the TV needed new batteries, I again replaced it, then it was broken, and never replaced. People borrow and stand on the chairs from the laundry room to change channels. Then, the lbs lables on the weight machines were removed by some kids. THEN, the weight keys from the machines disappeared one by one. There is only 1 left at this point so only one person can use ALL of the machines at one time. The carpet is RIPPED in several places. The office staff is friendly and the cleaning and remainder of the maintenance staff is also up to par, but they can't make up for the many lapses in judgement of the company that owns the property. I will be moving out myself VERY SOON. I do NOT recommend this place to ANYONE.
