What can I say, you certainly get what you pay for. I moved into The Carlyle Club.Richmond on the Fairway
12/2005. I was looking for a place that would allow me to save up for a downpayment on a home & also that was convenient to my job & family. Boy was I taken for a ride. From the day that I moved into until now, I have been having problems. My stove didn't work the first month I was there. Instead of getting me a new stove, they tried to fix it 3 times. All management could tell me was to keep receipts from what I spent on eatng out & they would dedust it from my next month's rent. After that, my complaints were about the noise level & trash outside my apartment. They (the --------) would have parties Friday thru Sunday night & leave beer bottles & all kinds of trach in the halls. It would sit there until the follwing Wednesday or Thursday, when I would decide I was tired of looking at it. The straw that broke the camels back is when my air conditioner broke in mid June and it didn't get fixed until 7/20/05. I am not lying, I have the receipts from the hotel to prove it. At first Iwasn't staying at a hotel, but then a serious heatwave hit the Atlanta area and I could no longer remain in the apartment because fans were no longer working. I was told to submit my receipts to the office & I would once again have the amount deducted from my next month's rent, we will see how that works out. To say that Iwould have to see a drastic change in this property to remain would be an understatement. I live in a 1 bd/1ba that's about 880 sq. ft. I called to find out what the market rent would be once me lease was up, and I was told close to $800. I asked what kind of renovations & improvements did they have planned between now & December to justify me, or anyone else paying that amount' I was assured that it would be worth it. But the only changes I have seen are the trash areas being cleaned and the mailboxes being spray painted with blue gang signs.
IF MANAGEMENT IS READING THIS, I THINK THAT YOU NEED TO HOLD A COMMUNITY FORUM. THE RESIDENTS OF THIS PROPERTY DESERVE A CHANCE TO HAVE THIER VOICES HEARD. I DO REALIZE THAT WITH THE RENOVATIONS MANY RESIDENTS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RENEW THEIR LEASES BECASUE OF THE INCREASE IN RENT. BUT I BELEIVE THAT IT'S WORTH IT TO CLEAN UP THIS COMMUNITY, AND I FOR ONE WOULD BE WILLING TO RENEW MY LEASE IF AND ONLY IF SOME DRASTIC CHANGES ARE MADE, & VERY SOON !!!
