I have lived at Tanglwood Park for one year and am counting the days until I am able to get as far away from this place as possible.
I believe I am the only caucasion person in the complex. Why do I bring this up, you ask' Because my fellow neighbors scorn and physically attack my child because he is white. I have had a woman verbally assault my 70 year old mother, calling her curse names, and have had delinquent hoodlum teens flick me the middle finger simply for driving by them. Someone walked, physcially stood on my car and walked on the hood of it one day (with grown men sized shoes), denting the hood in many places, to the tune of $1800. Vandalism at it's finest. I have heard of at least 3 people who have had their homes broken into, by the horrible kids here (I assume it is kids because they took playstations and steros and the like). I have had to call the police on my neighbors for loud music and partying going on at 1am, they were even on their porch right directly under my children's bedroom windows. There are so many hoodlum looking unsupervised kids and teenagers here, it is scary. I am living in the projects! I can't wait to leave.
A week ago, my 10 year old brought home a tiny green plastic baggie that actually had some crack left in it. He asked what it was. I had to explain to him, and was so infuritated I marched right down to the leasing office and put it on the leasing agent's desk, saying, "This is what my son just brought home to me." You know what she said' That while she didn't, or course, condone doing drugs, at least they weren't doing it in plain sight of the "chirrun". She then went on to try and put the blame on the complex next door, which is, incidentally, 20 times nicer than this place. The kids run wild. It's compounded by not only the fact that parents are absent from their kid's behaviors, but the kids are rude, surly and lack respect for authority. Three times the principal of the elementary school has had to ride the bus home with these kids because they are so out of control. They call each other -----, and have zero respect for anyone or anything. The Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper box at the mail area lasted literally 2 hours before they broke into it. After fixing it again and again for several weeks, they finally took it away.
There is a bug problem here as well. I am not one bit surprised considering the caliber of tenants that reside here.
Now, management is sorely lacking in care about anything. If they don't care that my 10 year old is finding crack baggies all about, what do you THINK they will care about' It's insane.
I am thinking of seeing about breaking my lease due to hazardous living conditions. I just can't put up with it anymore.
If you are looking for an affordable place to live, I don't have any suggestions for you as to where TO go, but I can certainly tell you where NOT to go. If you value your safety, and have any decency, you will hate it here. However, if you are looking for a place where you can enjoy your time spent with your drug dealer with minimum hassle in a cheap apartment, come right on over.
This is a low income property, and it really shows in the people that live here. Not a shred of class in the whole lot.
I am thoroughly disgusted with Tanglewood Park. The police need to come stake out this place on a permanent basis.

I agree with everything you have written and I do not even live there. I was riding though the neightborood checking it out and I was being stared at the whole time. There were people just standing outside smokeing who knows what. And I am a white young lady and I do have many colored friends who would not even think about living in a place like this. It is a waste of land. I would like to thank you for your help. I agree and I do not even live there!

Here I am, over 2 years later and I CAN'T TELL YOU how happy I am to have moved away from this place. Yes, I'm the original author of this *glowing* first review. 2,000 miles away isn't far enough away from this place.
I would like to add that before I was able to leave, a gunfight broke out one night in the parking lot underneath my bedroom window. The police were called, many shots were fired, and I feared for mine and my children's lives. I reitterate: DO NOT MOVE HERE.
There is a reason I have come back to this site to revisit this topic: It is unsafe and dangerous, no matter who you are, what your "color" is, or how much money you make (or don't make).
