I moved into Wellington in 2000. At that time the staff was nice and helpful and the people were nice and friendly. Within 5 months people started moving in with 2 months free beginnig at the start of their lease. Within the next 3 months the apartments started going downhill very rapidly.
There was an attempted abduction of a 8 year old child. Cars started getting broken into. Several armed robberies on people getting in or out of their cars. Several apartments broken into. 1 was an armed robberies. Gun shots in the back of the apartments. 1 Hit and Run inside the apt,(happened at a time when the gates were not working, which is why no one was able to get a tag number).
The gates were usually broke 1-2 weeks out of a month. The swimming pool had to be closed down by the state on 2 different occasions. Cars sped thru the apartments daily. (I never in 3 1/2 years let my children go play outside, ride bikes/rollerblades because it was never safe). The week nights you could hear loud noise coming from cars. But come the weekend it was always noisy (both cars and apt). One time I called the leasing manager to complain about extremely loud music from the apt next to me (from 10:00pm til 4:30am). The next day the manager of the apt told me I had to call the police next time and have them come out. They could not do anything about it.
Once I finally decided to move I cleaned my apartment and fixed anything that may have needed fixing. The apartment staff nickel and dimed me til they were able to keep more than 3/4 of my deposit. After speaking with 2 different people that had previously lived at Wellington,Management did the same with their deposit.
My advise is to definitely think twice before moving into Wellington Ridge. There are too many apartments in this area to have to put up with this type of treatment. Especially when we pay the money we do.
