When I moved into Wellington Ridge, I had a problem with my phone jacks. They did not work at all. Management told me that I just had to pay the phone company the extra monthly fee for "free" service if my phone jacks didn't work. I told them that they did not work at all and I had just moved in.....their attitude was that it wasn't their problem. Finally after a month's phone bill ( I had to hackle with the phone company for a reduction since I hadn't been able to use my phone/internet at all) and an outrageous cell phone bill, they told me to have the phone company out to fix it and they would pay the bill. They came out to fix it but I didn't receive a bill. It turns out another neighbor of mine had the same problem and she said that she just paid the monthly fee to the phone company. The same neighbor had her new car CD player stolen while parked outside of her apartment.

One summer, my AC was running but not working. It ran up my electric bill and caused some leaking in the walls. My bathroom closet, living room wall and ceiling, and the carpet mildewed. They came in and slapped a coat of paint on it.

My apartment was broken into in the middle of the day...1:30pm even though this apartment is gated, someone broke my door and helped themselves to my things. They "fixed" my door by replacing the metal part only. My door has had a very flimsy lock on it and I do not feel safe at all. That was all they were willing to do.

Noise is also a huge problem. Everyday I have to ask someone to turn their music down all hours of the day and night. Most of the time, they will turn it down but the fact that you have to run outside in your PJs at 2am on a week night has just been added aggrivation. My roommate and I have complained to management. Their response is "Call the courtesy officer". They did pass out noise level reminders but it doesn't seem to help the situation.

Every summer, I work out of town for a month. I was one day late sending my rent check from out of town. I spoke to someone in the leasing office about my situation and they told me to send it priority mail. I emailed and called to make sure they received my check. It was a day late because it fell on a holiday, July 4th. The leasing office left a very ugly letter on my door about the late rent, penalty fees, and threatening eviction after I had already spoken to someone over the phone.

Anyone who takes one look around and just talks to the leasing staff can be easily fooled. It is a gated community and the buildings and landscaping can be very deceiving.
