Be warned. We were very impressed initially with the landscaping and the appearance of our apartment when we first moved in-- new carpet and paint made it look very "clean". It wasn't soon after that we discovered our apartment was SEVERELY infested with German roaches. After talking to some neighbors, we discovered it was the entire building. We kept our apartment very clean and I even work for a pest control company so we kept the place sprayed the entire year we were there, however, the apartment management refused to treat the entire building on a regular basis, so no matter what we did, the roaches just kept coming over through the walls from other apartments. I am a Stay-at-home-mom with my baby and I suffered some serious breakdowns in this environment. We aren't talking 1 or 2 roaches on occasion, I killed at least 10 to 15 roaches every day-- they were in our bed and crawled across our table during dinner. I even left to live with my parents for 2 weeks in February because I couldn't take it. I could never truly relax in my "home" or let my baby daughter play on the floor because it was so nasty. The office staff was VERY unresponsive to our problems. What made me the most angry was their dishonesty about the situation. When I asked why nobody told us our apartment was infested before moving in, they claimed they didn't know-- however I have the testimonies of several neighbors who said they had called about it many times in the past, the office just wasn't responding. I wrote several letters about the roaches, even sent them a bag of dead carcasses to try and get some attention, they sent somebody maybe 3 times the entire year when they should have been treating every apartment in the infested building at least monthly-- that was never done. Yuck. Didn't even offer us a discounted rate or offer to reimburse for all the money we spent treating the apartment ourselves, and professional products are expensive.
We have since moved and I consider the year I lived at Wellington a living nightmare. The roaches were the worst problem. However, anyone looking to live here should know this is not a family environment-- the neighborhood is horrendously loud, neighbors very discourteous, rap music is always blaring to late hours of the night, the "courtesy officers" don't truly exist (or if they do, they never answered our phone calls) and our neighbor's car window was shot out on new years eve. The "security" gate was broken 95% of the time, the pool filthy, and the recreation center was shut down while we were there. Several times when my husband politely asked neighbors to turn their rap music down while our baby daughter was napping (because the base would literally shake our apartment), or at 3am when WE were trying to sleep, he was pretty much told to f*** off. This place was hell.
