I have lived here for 5 years. It was a great community when I moved in but has gone down every year since 2003. I can't say it it the management, it is the residents!!! I have personally witnessed the children in the playgorund tear down 2 fences. There was a wood fence when I first moved in and when that was torn down, the management replaced it with a chain link fence. The fence has been torn down and the gate is missing.
The children there have rock fights!!! One day last year they broke out the window of my car. The community has become ghetto with cars riding through playing loud music and I have lived next door to an obvious drug dealer. Everyone went to work and he stayed home and he had special "visitors". All in all, it is still a bargain to live there. If you are thinking about living there, request an aparment in the back like building 1900, 1800, 1700, 1600, and maybe 1400. Most everyone in those buildings have to get up and go to work in the morning so at 10PM, you can hear a pin drop.
I have not had any problems with management. The only issue I have is that the pet deposit was changed from 1/2 refundable to non refundable. So even if my pet does not mess up anything, I will be out $300. Maintenance can be hit or miss. I have had an ongoing issue with my heat. The last two winters, when i put my heat on a low temp like 70 degrees, the heater blows cold air when it comes on and the air is luke warm at best. My heater worked normally when i first moved in. If you set the heat at 68, 70, or whatever, when the heat came on it blew hot air. Well I put in a request to have the heater checked out. The maintenance man came and tried to tell me that nothing was wrong. But I began smelling burnt wire smells. I told the guy this and he blew it off. As we where talking there was a boom!! A relay in my heater blew up as we where standing there!! I looked at him and he could not say a word. He did repair the relay, but I still did not get hot air unless I cranked it up to 78 or higher. I asked them to come out 2 more times and II kept getting the same guy. So I showed him what I was talking about and he did not get it. So he said he would come back. I was at work, when he came back. He still did not fix the issue. Instead he left me a pamphlet explaining how the heater works. I called and spoke with a manager and they sent someone else over. they did something and got it right. But it was short lived as the next winter, I was back to cold air below 78.
Just an example of working with maintenance. Overall, if you are on a budget, you can not beat the price. If you can afford more, move somewhere else.
