RAPE was an "Inside" job

OK.. people a little trip down memory lane. I was really considering this place after learning a co-worker lived there, BUT news broke before I took the office tour with a leasing agent.
A maintenance worker "broke in" on a tenant and RAPED a tenant. "Broke in" of course meaning LET HIMSELF in with the key from the management office.
So basically, that taught me to inquire on hiring practices for anyone that is staff at a complex. Haven't heard anything better as of late regarding this property either.
You're probably better off renting one of the houses in the sub-division behind it... and YES the gates are ALWAYS open!!!!
But why use the gates since the criminals apparently run the place' Maybe this way there's a chance that a good samaritan will drive in either to turn around or out of curiosity and catch the next tenant being attacked by an employee and do something... like call the cops.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. THIS IS AN ANGRY RESIDENT OR ANGRY PROSPECT THAT WAS DENIED. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. CONTACT THE GWINNETT CO. SOUTHSIDE PRECEINT IF YOU WANT PROOF.

It was my error that I didn't post the time frame. Thought I did, but did state "people a little trip down memory lane". I recently found this since because I'm considering a rental as a second "home". It can happen anywhere and thus questioning the hiring process/ background check/ drug screenings/ etc. along with checking with the local PD should be included in any search effort. It's not fool proof, but it's an added precaution taken.
Actually, I was thinking of others seeing as people forget. Thank you. BTW, do you really think any LEASING office/ SALES center would say anything else?!

Why post this now? Can you imagine how upset I was when I read this? I called the leasing office and they assured me is wasn't true, but now I read it happened back in 2004/2005 or before!!! No one is guarenteed their safety no matter where they live, gates or no gates. You need to think of others before you post something like this.

From ECI MANAGEMENT CORPORATION:
Serious allegations have been broadcasted on this website regarding one of our associates. The genius of the internet is to allow the distributions of information easily and widely. Unfortunately, this allows dishonest people to make completely unsubstantiated statements without any support or proof. There is no record that this incident in question ever occurred in our community. Even worse, these folks can make these statements with absolute impunity.
ECI Management completes an in-depth background check on each of our employees before hiring; we also have strict rules as to how all employees must act while an associate. For somebody to make an allegation about a criminal act that defames one of our employess and are property is slanderous and dangerous.
We will address this website and the author through all appropriate means. We are going to stand by our employee because making unsubstantiated statements is wrong, and this is not how we operate as a company. We hope that you will do the same.

I don't know if this happened or not but I do know that bad things can happen no matter where you live or how much security you have. I am a former tenant, I moved out this year. I enjoyed my time at this community and I thought the maintenance people, especially James were very nice, competent and he always went above and beyond to get the job done. They also responded very quickly. The only problem I truly had with this community was ECI Managements refusal to reward long time good tenants with rent concessions. Long time tenants who paid their rent on time every month should be awarded some kind of rent concession as new tenants who left when their low rent expired. I would have stayed if they would have been more flexible and considered giving me some kind of concession after being there for more then 3 years. With the financial times the way they are they even refused to give me any kind of concession when I asked to move into a 1 bedroom. As a result I will be moving into a new community WITH a rent concession rather then staying in the community I enjoyed.
