SUMMARY: If you can be happy in your home with your windows closed, then the apartments are GREAT! We LOVE ours. If you like the outdoors, you will have to drive somewhere to enjoy them because just outside you will hear the sounds of the ghetto!
UNIT MAINTENANCE: We lived here for 5 yrs. and maintenance always came the day we called. Follow up took some nagging, but not much.
BLDG/GROUNDS MAINTENANCE: We had a drainage problem outside, causing a muddy swamp that they never fixed. When I fixed it after 9 mos. by making my own little garden, they encouraged me and didn't give me grief. The utilities are also reasonable. Once they had a water leak and I got a bill for $200. They signed the bill and told me to pay the normal $35. That week, work crews fixed underground pipes and the next bill corrected everything.
MANAGEMENT: You have to remember that all these people hear all day is griping. You have to come to them with a coherent complaint and reasonable request for solution. I can tell that the blank look means "Okay, what do you want me to do about it'" So I tell them and they do something.
The cable was ATM when we moved in-crappy and overpriced. When enough tenants complained, they terminated their contract and got Comcast out here.
PETS: when they say they are "pet friendly," they mean it! If you hate dogs, don't live here because this is one of the few places you are allowed to have large breeds-and many of us do. They nag us periodically to keep them on leashes and pick up after them and we (collectively) do. But when a mother complained because HER kid went running up to and harrassing my leashed dog and got (ecstatically) jumped and slobbered upon, the mgmt said, "Her dog was on a leash. Your child was not."
NEIGHBORHOOD: The neighborhood has gone downhill fast-I think because of the changing nationality of churches in the area. But the complex has evicted drug dealers, offered security meetings for interested residents, and tries to follow up complaints with notes. There are several apts with 8 to a room, but they usually aren't here for long.
I wish they'd put in sidewalks or better playground facilities because one of my biggest problems is bratty, disrespectful kids in the middle of the street or outside of my window screaming, and mucking up the pool to the point where they had to close it this year. I think management tries its best. They can't discipline peoples' kids!
CRIME: There was a drug-related killing, an attempted robbing, several car break-ins, and some grafitti (which they paint over quickly) since I've lived here. I am extremly vigilant when I walk the dog late at night, but the walk from my car to my door is well lit and I don't worry at all during daylight. There are a few die-hard neighbors and we look after each other. I keep my outside valuables locked up or chained like you would in any metropolitan area.
Residents just need to take *some* responsibility for their surroundings and the mgmt responds in kind, usually. It is a great price for the square footage and we lived here for five years until we bought our first home.

I have recently moved into the complex and I have to agree with most of the existing tenants points. It is a great apartment in a lousy neighborhood. So far the management staff has catered to all my needs. I am one of those tenants who do not appreciate unattended animals nor do I appreciate bratty kids. My neighbors dont seem to appreciate the luxury of being home because they are always standing just outside of the apartment in the breezeway. Which makes me nervous especially since I live alone. Yet no matter where you live you can't pick your neighbors. Overall, great floor plan, good price, police are always in the area, management is good and maintanence is prompt. |

I have lived here since 2004. I like my apt, but the neighborhood is ghetto and crime infested. I have to deal with disrespectful neighbors and parking is horrible with all of the work vans and trucks that are in the lot. My car has been vandalized and broken into. Don't get me wrong, the mgmt staff is very nice, but the area has gone downhill since I moved in. I feel like I am in another country sometimes when I walk outside to my car with the loud music. I fell like sometimes I will be hit in the lot by the way the other tenants drive over here! I have had over 10 almost accidents just trying to get in or pull out of a parking space. I would not recommend moving to this area. I plan on moving this year!
