My roommate and I lived at the Waterford for one year, between June 2001 and June 2002, while I was in college. The previous posts about this complex I find to be very accurate. The gate almost never worked. There were always miscellanous furniture items right outside of the gate at the beginning of every month because the complex had evicted yet another tenant. My neighbor directly above me was robbed blind in broad daylight. My water heater broke in the dead of winter, causing me to have to seek shelter elsewhere until it was fixed. And if that weren't enough, the apartment complex refused to deduct the week I had to stay elsewhere from that month's rent. As far as the cats that another reviewer mentioned, let's just say that I now have a 3 year old cat that I took in when he was just a kitten at the complex. In addition to the stray cats, roaches, and many spiders, frequently when I would go to the mailbox I'd look to my right to find a huge racoon staring back at me from the garbage can. The water meter was not set individually but rather for the whole building, so my water bill was usually sky high because there were entire families in the building. The walls were so thin that you could hear your neighbors using the bathroom, and for some reason, it always sounded like the people upstairs were dropping heavy furniture. My shower rod broke the first day I moved in. Maintenance was pretty responsive but didn't always fix everything correctly; and my bathroom drawers were disgustingly marked up with crayons or some other substance.

We had the same noise problem. We are friend swith our old neighbors and can now laugh at the joke of us all being able to hear each other in the bathroom. The ones above us had a squeaking floor that drove us NUTS!!!
