We lived in these apartments from August 31st , 2004 until August 31st , 2005. When my husband and myself moved in , we put down a deposit of 326.00. Which was 1/2 of our rent of 652.00. This deposit was SUPPOSE TO BE .. refundable at the end of our lease. During our one year stay , we paid an ADDITIONAL 45.00 PER MONTH .. for WATER , making our rent 697.00 per month. At the end of our lease, these apartments tried to stick us with an ADDITIONAL 128.00 in WATER BILLS .. which we KNOW .. we did not owe. Not only that , they went and FILLED IN our lease agreement the dates of September 4th as being the END of our lease date instead of August 31st. WE DID NOT ASK FOR A ONE YEAR AND FOUR DAY LEASE. This date of September 4th was NOT on the lease that we saw or signed. In fact , they went BACK .. and added these four days on our lease so they could collect an additional four days when we moved out. We had the apartment CLEAN .. and handed over the keys on August 31st , 2005. They sent us a letter indicating they were going to KEEP .. the 128.00 for water .. and 87.00 for RENT .. out of our deposit monies. WE RAISED immortal HADES with these folks !!
Because of my PERSISTENT complaints .. they are going to "refund" my WATER BILL MONEY. However , they are making me pay the four days that we DID NOT SIGN FOR. Because they typed in this date AFTER our signing this lease , we had NO CHOICE in the matter. They had "stuck us" again. I had asked them for a "price per gallon" on my water bill and I wanted to SEE how they calculated that I still owed 128.00 after paying in almost 540.00 for ONE YEAR OF WATER!! And , just for me and my husband'''. They could NOT furnish this. How they are billing for water .. should be ILLEGAL !! And if you decide you want to move into this place .. MAKE SURE .. that you KNOW and SEE .. the dates on your lease. We signed the lease with only the dates of August 31st , 2004 on it .. ASSUMING that they would give us a ONE YEAR LEASE. They went back after we signed it .. and typed in the date of September 4th. Naturally , this caused us to have to pay an additional FOUR DAYS in rent to this apartment complex. IN ADDITION to all of this .. our vehicle was hit by a tenant who "hit and ran" .. my brother's truck was stolen with all of his tools in it .. the cops were knocking on our door at 3 am because a woman was raped next door to us .. and a family was robbed .. all in this ONE apartment complex. This place is a CRIME RIDDEN APARTMENT COMPLEX. It is a DANGEROUS place to live. The staff is rude and hateful in both the apt. office and in the corporate office. Not to mention , they are A BIG HUGE RIP OFF with the water bill. If you can't get in WITHOUT a deposit .. DON'T MOVE IN. If you don't want to be a POSSIBLE NEXT VICTIM ... DON'T MOVE IN !! That's OUR advice. Our experience with the people who work there .. as well as OUR LIVING THERE .. has been NOTHING .. but a total NIGHTMARE.

I agree. I am getting my letter stating that I am not renewing my lease....NOTARIZED!!!

Common Sense people!!! Never sign anything with an open-ended date and always always get copies of any type of contract that you sign!! You were asking for unnecessary stress. It amazes me how people have little or no regard for contracts until they are stuck and have to pay. As a consumer, you must protect yourself better next time....so this was YOUR mistake.
