Beautiful, Clean Apartments--HORRIBLE Management
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/25/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've had nothing but problems with the management, from the day I first moved in, to the day I left. First they charged me well over the price to move-in, including charging me a $200 holding fee when I was moving in that same day!
When I needed them to call the police if they saw the person that I had just obtained a restraining order on around the apartment complex, they refused to help, saying over and over that that was none of their concern or business, but they reassured me that they wouldn't give them any information about me. The person who I had the restraining order on already HAD my info, they needed to stay off the property, and to be arrested if they came on the premises. But they refused to lift a finger, even discarded the picture with description I gave management.
They were all the time leaving notes in your door telling you to lock up your pets for the whole day b/c they were doing inspections or maintenance or just needed to come in. Yes, it was within 24-48 hours notice, but in one year, I probably got half a dozen notices. The problems with the notices were as follows: no privacy, less security, pets had to be trapped for the entire day (and I don't pen up cats, esp when the food and water dishes are in the kitchen and the litter box is in another room and they sleep and play in a 3rd room), neighbors complained about dirty footprints being tracked in, money being stolen, and a few residents, including myself, had our apartments illegally entered and unlocked without permission, notice, or good reason. When you have a note stuck in your door, your neighbors know you're not home. Or vice versa, know you've already left for the day when they see it's gone. DANGEROUS.
Maintenance was always friendly and outgoing. But a few things I did have fixed did have to be immediately re-fixed.
"Don't expect to get your security deposit back: management always comes up with a reason to take it all," I've heard from other residents.
During the summer, there were several thefts and break-ins, including my apartment and my upstairs neighbor. They stole video game stuff from my neighbor, and my windows and doors were all open when I returned home, nothing to steal as I'd just moved in.
The gate doesn't provide any security: WAY too easy to follow ppl in/push a number to be let in. And Ashley Vista has NEVER kept security; management keeps firing them, and won't rehire for months at a time it appears.
I talk to several employees and residents. They all have major issues with the morality and professionalism of management.
