I moved from New York with a friend from college and thought that I was getting into a really great apartment. NOT SO!!!
- Our terrace level apartment was infested with "water bugs" spiders, beetles, ants and more. The apartment flooded more that three times and mold grew incessantly. The mirrors were detaching from the wall that s how much moisture was present in out apartment. The management said that they were sending a maintenance person to fix it and they did this three times until finally I dragged them into our apartment to see it for them selves. When I returned home that evening the maintenance had left our AC on full blast, left their work materials in our floor and it was clear they had been smoking in the apartment. A week later they called and gave us 24 hours notice that they were moving us to another apartment.
When we got the new apartment it was infested with roaches and there were no smoke detectors. The idiots in the office (mainly Katrina the property manager, Nicole the Marketing Manger, and Ayannah our leasing agent) had no answers.
When they finally called and exterminator, another problem occurred. The door fell off the hinges onto the floor as my roommate was entering the apartment. They left us a msg saying that we would have to pay for the damage. When we approached them on this issue they told us that they never had any prior knowledge of the door being broken so it must be our fault. After a serious argument broke out, between myself, my roommate an their so called professional staff, they took the charges off.
Then when it was time to go we gave them verbal notices that we would be leaving, they claimed that did not count and produced falsified records that they had spoken to my roommate and she told them we were staying. Thus were not given back our security deposit and charged us two month rent. They are very rude uneducated, unorganized and incredibly childish
None of the amenities were ever in working order. The gym equipment was always broken, the pool was always dirty, the business center was never unlocked. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!

You sound really stupid. If you gave a vebal notice and your lease says written, you WERE at fault. DUH! By the way, since when do doors actually just "FALL" off of the hinges? Sounds fishy to me!

WOW yousoundstupid, no defense about the bug issue. Just the verbal notice and door falling off.
