The trouble started last June when my roommate and I (who were from out of town) came to Lithonia to look for an apartment. We really liked the floor plan and decided to apply. We were told it would take 72 hours to get an approval. We waited 2 weeks and called constantly just to be told my the incompetant staff that the paperwork was not finished yet. They tried to charge us a $500 deposit because the lady working on our file hadn't contacted our previous apartments for rental history. Once a supervisor stepped in, they realized their mistake. However, THEY CHARGE EVEYRONE A $250 DEPOSIT!! REGARDLESS OF RENTAL HISTORY, CREDIT, EMPLOYMENT, ETC.!! That is ridiculous but since we were moving from out of town we didn't have time to find another apartment. We had ants from July when we moved in until October. And I mean A LOT OF ANTS. They were in the carpet and we often woke up with ant bites. When we called the office they told us "we should get stronger ant spray." The exterminator only comes on Thursdays so we had to suffer until then. In December our heat broke and when we called to tell them, we were told to "buy some heaters." It wasn't until we threatened to call the city that they suddenly had time to come fix it. Also, the visitors gate doesn't work (EVER!) and the exit gate is always broken as well.. That is a major safety issue (cars and apartments have been broken into) Please take this as a warning! This is not a place you want to call home!!!!!

I completely agree with everything you had to say. I had to make about 5 requests to get some simple things fixed when I first moved in this may, which have yet to be done, now that I have mentioned the supposed "2-day" guarantee", they don't want to respond to me. They have attempted to fix some things, but they got me. Made me think everything was all great. My girlfriend convinced me to move to the ghetto and I listened because the apartment was nice. I feel dumb now because I am stuck in some crap for a year. This was actaully the first time I didn't use this site before I made a decision and it shows.
