I lived in this apartment for 2 years. As a single female I felt safe. The parking is directly in front of building. The intrusion alarms are an added bonus (they will alarm even if you do not subscribe to have it monitored).
Maintenance staff are helpful with just about anything (except hanging pictures, they claim they don't want to be responsible for damage to personal property). However, they will help with clogged drains, fishing earrings out the drain, replacing shower heads, etc.
The grounds are well kept. However, the ground keepers get an early start and may disturb late sleepers. The apartments are kept in crisp condition with the occasional power washing of the exterior, paint of doors and breezeways.
It's simple elegance in this community.
My neighbors were nice (borderline snobbish). They were quiet, we said hello and smiled in passing and that was it. There is a old white lady that lives there that walks her dog daily (rather she pulls him in a cart)... she is a delight! She is one of the few persons that will engage you in conversation. There is little community activities/ interaction.
Watch out for the kids! Because parents feel safe in the community... they let their young children run wild in the neighborhood without supervision... I love seeing children being active and having fun, they were not excessively noisy and the played mainly during the daytime till dawn.. but they will run into the streets! So be very careful!
Management is okay. They do what you ask. They do not go above or beyond. Somewhat prejudice/ snobbish.
One issue that was never rectified during my stay was the mold growing in the window jams (especially in the master bathroom) and the draft that came through the improperly sealed windows.
The walls are thin and you will be able to hear neighbors above you.
In addition... there is a pest (roach) problem in Macon... and Bristol Park is not exempt. In addition to their "routine" pest control you will definitely want to have roach spray handy! And there will be occasional spiders, water bugs...
The apartment is on the higher end of prices for apartments in Macon (only to be beat in prices by one complex that sits on the same road... Lullwater... absolutely lavish and overpriced). However, as others have stated if you live in Macon you probably want to live in North Macon which is away from the center of Macon and most importantly the crime.
The amenities are nice... pool, laundry room, business center, carwash, tennis ct, volleyball pit, theater, gym all housed in or around the clubhouse... I never had a great need to use many of the amenities... but it's nice to have them available whenever the need arises.
