I am one of the residents fortunate enough to have moved into the complex during its early stages of development and watch its growth. The grounds are well-kept, the neighbors are friendly as are the concierge and maintenance staff, the amenities are extremely accesible, and the complimentary events featuring area restaurants and Sunday brunch are wonderful. However, as the cliche goes "everything that glitters isn't gold".
1. It's best if you hire your own pest control service - the complex is surrounded by a lake and trees - the pest service they offer sprays a chemical which acts more like water than Raid.
2. As one resident stated before, management can turn a concern regarding your apartment into a personal attack against themselves. It's just not that deep, fix my problem, and let's move on.
As for the cost of the apartments, the high ceilings, the option to have an accent wall (wow), garden tubs, microwave, washer and dryer in the unit, amenities, and convenience of location all make up for the cost. If anything, management is willing to work on the cost of rent with an individual they value as a resident. Even with the traffic from Dobbins (which will be closing in the near future) and railroad in the area, noise is a minor concern. If you are not a fan of pets, beware of moving here, the pups are everywhere.
I've lived in a number of apartments and Belmont Place has been top-notch in comparison.
