Don't be fooled by the apartments themselves

First, if you care about security this is not the place for you. The complex has gone through at least three rounds of break-ins since January and the complex hasn't done anything; such as police consistently monitor the complex, to try and make the community safer. Please do not think that the gates are meant for security - "they are only courtesy gates" - Manager. Also, be prepared to get different stories, prices, and availability dates from the office. I tried to have a friend move in they kept changing the story on her and myself every time we would go in to the office. Furthermore, if you have a dog then do not expect to have space to let them run - if you do you will get harassed. If you do have concerns, don't expect anyone to care to call you back, including the higher management. Lastly, the front office acts like they are doing you a great favor for allowing you to live here and pay exorbitant rates. Do not be fooled by the apartment themselves, it is a total package you must consider.

Mgmt does nothing for security: This is the first apt community I've ever lived in that has a Brinks Home security system in every home - I think it's great!! When we did have a few break-ins (it's Atlanta), the proeprty was quick to communicate the happenings to all of us and stress the importance of the Brinks system. I'm constantly seeing Cobb County police drive through the property. Dogs running: Cobb County has a leash law and the property follows it. Most residents appreciate a community that enforces the law... I know my family does. And in regards to the staff... I feel like I'm staying at an upscale hotel! They're awesome!!!

I will not allow myself to settle on the fact that a few break-ins are ok because "it's Atlanta". Are you sure that the staff was "quick to communicate the happenings"? How would you like to know that it wasn't three break-ins, it was 6 and the first one happened in January? The notice didn't go out until April, that's not very quick communication at all. Oh yeah, did you also get the notice when the DEA made their bust in one of the apartements? Can you believe that the DEA busted the CFO of the Black Mafia Family, right here in our little community and noone even knew about it. That is, except those tennants, like myself, that were awoken @ 6:30am with sound of doors being kicked in. If only that guy would have had the Brinks Home Security System enabled, we could've had ourselves a real gunfight. The only reason that Cobb County police are driving through the parking lots is because they have to. The "approval bar" has been lowered for potential tenants trying to live here. When we first moved in, in 2005, there was a significant financial and credit threshold that needed to be met. It produced more professionals and the community had a professional feel. Today, they have a lower credit score required, lower financial burden that needs to be met, and there are no more of those "ammenities" that the original residents came to enjoy. We've traded in weekely events for a movie and a couple of brunches. No more tennis lessons, no more wine tastings, no more meet your neighbor in a professional environment. All of this and a standard 25% incraese in your monthly rent when you renew your lease. Hmmmm, 25% increase in monthly rent, fewer ammenities, and more cops. That sounds like a recipe to find somewhere else to live. Stay away from Belmont Place Apts, they are not what you think.

Who gets on apt ratings to write a 2 pg review? Spoken like a true crazy woman...

How about get the police report before you move somewhere. The DEA bust you claim isn't on any report.... Also rent goes up 7% if that. As far as the events, I was in the office today talking to the girls helping them with ideas about new events. You should get the survey soon honey.

Actually vk2290 you're incorrect, there was a DEA bust in apartment 6108. I want to say that it was in late 2005 or early 2006. I'm guessing that there isn't a police report because it was a Federal drug bust. Before you get defensive for your employer. I know, because I was also awoken up at 6:30am by the DEA Agents busting down the door. How do I know that they were DEA? Because when I snuck a peak out my windows, I could see them standing there with their long rifles (only used in the most dangerous situations), and DEA coats. They arrested the CFO of the Black Mafia Family, who regularly stayed over at his girlfriend's apartment. Regarding Rent, I can only say that ours went up more than the flat 7% that you said. It wasn't 25% either. It started there, but usually ended up around 12-15%. I hope that you're able to get new events going, because Belmont has changed significantly from when we first moved in. It's been marketed as catering to professionals, and it did originally. However, when they lowered the "approval criteria" bar, the atmosphere changed dramatically.
