This place seemed like a very nice and kept up place when we first moved into a townhouse.

We only stayed 6 months! Everything seemed to be fine when we left until one day a collection agency called and said that we owed East Lake 800 dollars?!? This is 6 months after being gone.

Said it was for carpet damage?!? Yes I walked on it with my shoes but for real? They said they had to pull all of it up and reseal the concrete? When we moved we did a walk through inspection and everything seemed to be fine until now.

They say they have pictures but can't duplicate them or scan them to send them to us being we now live 10 hrs away.

We did have a 4lb dog in the place with us.

They said she caused damage.

There was not any damage when we left the premises.

If you move in this place, make sure you get in writing what deposits go for and that they are signed.

When you vacate, make sure you KEEP your final inspection that they signed because you will get a call 6 months later from a Collection Agency just as we did.

We did not receive the first letter from them saying we owed anything.

It was as if they just turned it in to Collection without first reaching us.

The duck poop is terrible also and quiet hour is a joke.

The kids run around with no adult supervision and will hit your car with objects like metal end of leashes.

They will also climb on your car.

Call the office and tell them, they do nothing besides ask you where the kids live! I would never recommend this place to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy!

I just went through this myself. I scrubbed the place from top to bottom and cleaned all the windows and took pictures to back myself up with. I would suggest having a current newspaper in each picture to prove the date of the picture. I had Terri do the walk-through and she was quite impressed that the only thing that was needed was a fresh coat of paint and it was ready to move into, so she signed off on it and gave me my copy which I kept. 2 weeks later I get a letter stating that I owed $xx.xx for my final water bill(fine) AND 30.00 for a dirty oven AND 30.00 for a stained tub. After having read reviews on here my little "something's not right" bump started to itch. This is like the "ideal" way to get a little last minute cash outta you. So, I live close by and drove in, walked up to Terri and reminded her of the walk-through and then showed her the bill. She started to say they must have found something, when I reminded her she had opened the oven herself and looked at the tub and had signed off on it as being good. Dont get me wrong, she was nice, probably one of the better ones there. Held on a leash from management, but nice. Management does not trust their office staff. Anyway she took me in to see Kim who took 5 minutes to find the file and pulled the pctures out. The way they identify an apt is to take a picture of the number on the door and then take any inside pictures to prove their point. No need to say how wide the opporunity is for falsifying pictures here. But needless to say this was not the case here, they in fact had apparently put the wrong pictures in my file from another apt. As was said in the prior post, they apparently don't check or recheck their own paperwork. I was more upset that they wasted my time. As said before: Be careful, document everything!! Take pictures of everthing!!(remember to use something like the current newspaper to document date) DO NOT TURN IN KEYS WITHOUT GETTING A FINAL INPSECTION SIGNED< EVEN IF YOU DO HAVE DAMAGE. It will get documented (and then some) if you avoid it. AGAIN DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!! Keep all documents for atleast 3 yrs in case something creeps up later on, like the previous poster If you get a letter, they have the burden of proof. They have to provide you with the evidence that you owe them. DO NOT take the "they must have found something" type answer, make them show you hard evidence of their claim prior to agreeing to pay them. Good Luck, I'm glad I'm gone.

I'll be moving out soon. I hope I don't have those problems.
