Good price; however, it is noisy

There are many good things about this complex. The apartment was freshly painted, clean, and all appliances were in working order when I moved in. When I left, I cleaned the apartment and received my full deposit back. Each time someone moves, the lock is changed on the door; this is an excellent security feature.

The apartment itself was nice. There was a lot of closet space for a two-bedroom apartment and the bathroom had a lot of space. Pest control came by at regular intervals, so there was never a problem with bugs. There was not enough cabinet or walk space in the kitchen; over a period of time, this area began to give me a very "closed-in" feeling. I had an upstairs apartment with a storage closet and the closet was huge.

The rent was reasonable and included water, trash, and pest control. Because the apartment was all electric, I did not have to worry about skyrocketing gas prices and was able to stay warm.

Two factors caused me to leave. The first was the fact that management was slow to respond to maintenance requests. In each case, the requested maintenance eventually was done; however, it was necessary to wait and to follow-up. The second and most important was the noise level. If you have noisy neighbors in this complex, you will have nobody to help you except the police. Part of the problem is the fact that the complex has a very high Hispanic population, those who sign the original lease allow their friends to move in, and the units around you become overcrowded. Little or nothing is done to make sure that the laws are enforced regarding maximum occupancy in a unit.

There also was noise from an apartment in the building involving domestic abuse. This was more than I could tolerate.

I would advise you to check out the building you want to move to at various times of the day and night, as well as talk to other occupants of the building, before moving here. Because of the noise, I would never sign a lease for longer than six months. That way, you can leave if it becomes unbearable.
