Nice lake; somewhat in decline

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
When I moved in, this place was perfect, albeit a little bit small for the price. I had a huge balcony, a gorgeous view of a small lake, and when I came home from work each evening, all I could hear from my apartment was the squawking of geese. My maintenance calls were always dealt with quickly.
Lately, noisier neighbors have moved in and I?ve discovered that the apartment isn?t as well protected against noise as I originally thought. And unfortunately, the vent in the bathroom, which creates more noise than air circulation, allows smells from neighbors' bathrooms to spread into my apartment.
Some of the apartment?s facilities have not been maintained well. The exercise room has very little equipment, no heating or air conditioning, and a broken stairmaster; the laundry facilities are not always in working order; and some outdoor lights only function intermittently. The pool was not covered for winter as it was last year -- I wonder whether they will clean it in time for spring.
Nevertheless, given the park-like setting and the lack of any serious problems, I would give this complex a marginal recommendation -- it's at least worth looking at.
